2011 Dainese Dyno shoes (vs Joe Rocket Velocity)

I finally received my Dainese boots from Revzilla yesterday. Video review by Revzilla below:

Link to original page on YouTube.

My old boots are the Joe Rocket Velocity. First thing you'll notice is that the boots are lot beefier although they're both the same size (Men's 9). Because of that, I actually had to adjust my gear shift lever.

Obviously there's no laces, but there's also no strap like the Joe Rocket's. It uses an inner sock that is tightened by an inner cord.

Material is made of mesh and hard plastic by the ankles. It definitely covers all of the ankle and I actually have to wear longer socks underneath. It has toe sliders and a grippy pad for gear shifting.

SO on to the real review; how it feels on the bike. Both boots are slip resistant, but for some reason the Dainese grips really well on the pegs which helps me relax my knees on the tank. The Dainese boots also give a little height from the heel. The front of the boot is flexible forward and back which also may contribute to why the boot feels like it grips the pegs well. All in all, I really like them so far. Definitely feel more protective especially for my ankles.

They currently cost $199 and apparently ship from Italy, so it took a few weeks to come.

Wow they put a lot of thought into that shoe. I'm thoroughly impressed. Where'd you order from, Cuong?

Hey Cuong, I'm looking at buying these shoes myself. However, I want a shoe that's going to be good for spring fall riding. Are these shoes more for summer? My feet get cold easily so I'm looking for a warm shoe.

I don't know about protection but those look badass! Like Michael Jordan shoes of some kind.

They are mesh in front, but very thick mesh. Also, the inside of the shoe by the toe area actually has some kind of plastic covering so your toes won't get wet (I've ridden in rain and walked through puddles without getting my socks wet).

I can't honestly comment on the summer and winter riding though. The range of weather here is just 50-80 degrees and obviously the boots are comfortable in that kind of weather.

And Nemesis, I have lowsided in these boots about 50mph and my feet/ankles didn't feel a thing. The white part of the boot is definitely sturdy and from the video, they just cut their racing boot in half.
