Byson definitely looks better, but $10 is a steal for the cbr. I modded an r6 hugger the first time around and it was $10. Someone hurry up and and install. Would be great to see a side-by-side comparison.

Gotta love this forum.

Dang I kept looking for that cbr hugger for ever and finally just gave up. I looked at the cbr250r at a dealer and it looked like it would be nearly bolt on. Now they finally release the parts stuff. Oh well

I called a dealer earlier to see if they could get it locally and they said they can't for like until a few months later. Wierd.

I personally like how the Byson hugger looks as it conforms to the tires shape where as the cbr250 is more flat that rounded. Well see how it Looks. I'm trying to see if I can get some measurements from a guy locally so I can look at his cbr250 closely.

If anyone discovers any new tricks along the way to mount this, or fabricate new mounting tabs, please share.

well that price certainly sounds like it would be worth it for me to try, assuming cerberusrex comes back to me with similar numbers on the measurements of the swingarms. I'll try it

Doing something a little different here is a little teaser (will be doing a little more later this week), left side will be basically what everyone else is doing with a little tweak which I hope my hand is steady enough to dremel out well.

On a side note how many of you have ridden with it installed? Its closer to the chain than the stock chain guard is so just want to know if its staying away from the chain over bumps, etc...

I've put ~500 miles plus riding in the rain I haven't had any issues with it rubbing so far yet. I'll inspect it later.

I have had mine on for about 500mi with no issues. I did put a washer in between the hugger and swingarm on the front bolt. On the right side I just cut a notch for the caliper and zip tied it to the brake line holder. It works well since I have a shoty ss line that doesn't go through there.

Also why are people chopping up the left side? I had two bolts that line up with the holes in the hugger. One was the original hugger hole in the back and the other was a little bolt on the swingarm. I will probably bend the brake line holder so I can put a bolt in it.

I didn't want to interfere with that since it seemed like it holds on some stuff for the swingarm. Also this makes it so it is easily removed and replaced when work needs to be done. I probably won't be using zip ties anywhere on mine (at least I want to avoid that.

00NissanNinja, I might just have to copy that idea . Seeing that bracket empty really bothers me. I'm also gonna try to avoid zip ties. For the right ill just fabricate a small bracket from aluminum that bolts to the same place as the brake line holder... that is... when my hugger shows up

Go for it, I also don't like seeing brackets go unused haha. It is quite solid with three steel rivets in it. I might also try adding a bracket on the right kind of like what wayanlam did. I want mine to fit as though it was from the factory so I will avoid zip ties if possible.

do the national shipping packages get tracking numbers? or is it just a matter of waiting and hoping that it gets there?

I'm sorry Vee, not sure why you posted that here since I have replied to your PM twice before your last one. Your answer is actually in the thread. The carton size is 20x17x14 about 8 lbs shipped from 92109.

Sorry Jesse, I thought I sent yours with the first shipment. I'll get it sent today.
