coolant leak

Ok so the other day after a short ride to McDs I noticed a coolant leak it is leaking from the little metal piece that goes down into the head.does anyone know what could cause this? I will post a pic sometime tomorrow. I have looked it up and it is just an o ring that deals it. So I took it off and the o ring looks fine.

O-rings lose their compressibility over time, so even though it looks fine it probably has hardened up to the point where it (obviously) no longer seals. Just install a new one and be sure to clean out any grunge/crap on the tube and down in the hole before putting the new one on. Also, a dab of Vaseline on the O-ring will help prevent any damage from pushing the tube back into the engine.

If it's leaking it's no good, regardless of how hard it may or may not be.
