After market exhaust on Fuel Injection 250R?

Hey, I read that you need to do shimming or jetting and putting the bike on a dyno and paying up to £200 in "adjustments" to get the full benefits of a new exhaust. However all this seems to only apply to carburetor versions of the 250r only - what about fuel injection?

Also, with fuel injection, is there a difference between a full system or a slip on? Are any adjustments needed to get the full benefits in each case?

As I understand the ECU and Fuel Injection adjust to a new exhaust automatically or is this not the case?

To some extent the fuel injection will compensate on its own. But you can add a power commander (or similar) piggyback fuel controller that can add additional fuel at parts of the rev range. Search for posts by Gregular here, who did the same with his injected ninjette in the UK.

Exactly!

You can put pretty much ANY slip-on exhaust and ride away.
If you checked, along the exhaust pipeline you would find an O2 sensor screwed in. If you were to go for a full system exhaust, if would need a hole where that oxygen sensor goes. But the full systems are fairly costly though...

I recently got myself an Akrapovic Carbon fibre, and am very happy with it. It weights absolutely nothing! And makes the bike sound soooooo much better!
If I had to choose other than Akrapovic - I would have gone for Leo Vince slip-on. Two Brothers are fairly expensive once imported into the UK. And if you get one shipped, you will need to pay the VAT at the customs

I heard that the cheaper one could get rust fairly quickly...
And everybody (who knows about exhaust) will know you went for the cheaper one... But on the other hand, if you just wish to 'try' - then why not?

It doesn't work for me unfortunately... I would rather get Beowolf, etc..

That would probably by my choice. These will have an [E] stamp too (road legal).

That price is from USA. Add 17.5% VAT at the customs (or 20% after 2011 ).
I bought mine from www.bici.co.uk for £319 delivered.
I do adore it, just keep in mind it has something written on the side of the exhaust... "Not for road use" However, it would pass the MOT with the baffle insert.

Very nice, but pricey - also, add VAT & delivery charges

---------------------------------------

If you don't need the exhaust urgently, set up ebay searches for used exhausts and hunt for a second hand, for a bargain price.
