I woke up to the beautiful sounds of sports cars practicing at DIS. Then got buzzed by an F18, for being so super invisible I saw it clear as day, I realized my battery wasn't dead (original 2006 battery that everyone says to replace but I want to see just how long it will last) but needed to get juiced overnight. So I'm off for a ride. It might be the last day for warm weather (at least for a week) so I'm taking full advantage of it. I realize that the rest of the country always has beautiful weather but it's supposed to be 80 degrees today and I'm going for it.

It's been so long I don't remember what fighter jet it was, but I was in the driveway of my father's house, and a plane flew over while banking about 89-1/2 degrees. I was working on a boat trailer in the driveway and looked up to see the pilot so clearly just above the pine trees that I could see the corrugated hose coming off his face mask. The noise, of course, was deafening.

The local base used to use his house for target practice, because as they flew up Lake Gaston, his was easy to spot, with a cleared yard, facing right at them.
