01/16/10 Cruise to Apple Town: Julian California

Just finished a 300 mile ride today to Julian and Palomar.
This is the ROUTE MAP
Meetup is at the Jack In The Box in Irvine off the 5 fwy, Sand Canyon Road exit, fill up with gas again at Ramona which should get us all the way to Pala Casino for a well deserved break. The last gas-up at Pala Casino gas station.

We took a little trip to the old motorcycle town of Julian California?
Julian is a premier mountain getaway, just an hour east of San Diego, in the beautiful Cuyamaca Mountains. We had lunch there at the Julian Grille, 2224 Main St. Saved room in tummy! For desert we went across the street to the famous Julian Pie Company. This town is very famous for their apple pies, so we tasted their claim to fame. We also shopped in stores housed in historic buildings . . . some dating back to the 1870s.
On the road back home we rode thru Palomar Mountain! Lots of straights and twisty roads to keep us busy as well as beautiful mountain scenery to enjoy!
Video Thread
BTW I'm the old guy in white hair riding a Plasma Blue 2008 Ninjette keeping up with the Ducati's, KTM, BMW's, 600cc's, liter bikes and busas. Well on the twisties for sure!

Nice pictures!

I love riding in that area(Pala/Palomar/Ramona/Julian). I wish it was little closer to LA.

Im jealous, it seems so nice warm and sunny over there. Its been so cold the last month or so here that I could almost forget that I lived in the deep south. We usually don't get snow but maybe once or twice a year, its snowed like 10 times this winter already.
