R.I.P. Ninjette Rider

Early this morning, fatal accident in my area. R.I.P

UPDATE: I can tell by his license plate number ending in "B" that the person had the bike registered since a approximately 2010.

Damn... The bike doesn't even look all that beat up. Apparently the unfortunate rider came off the bike and hit a pole - the sort of thing that even the best ATGATT might not help with.

My condolences to his family and friends.

RIP

There's not much to go on, but judging by the very stock looking bike (how many of us are still using the stock exhaust after a year?), I'd guess it's a very new rider. If that's true that somehow makes it more tragic in my mind. I think it's very important we educate one another so as many of us can avoid this as possible.

I always think of EthioKnight when I read things like this. Always make me sad.

This is just heartbreaking... And I lost a good friend a week ago Saturday. Sad...

As to the education of each other, I couldn't agree more.

I had an eighteen year old kid as a student last week and I had to stop him in the middle of an exercise, manually turn his head and practically yell at him. Head turns are NOT optional! YOU WILL DIE WITHOUT THEM! I'm happy to say that with that, he got the memo.

And yet 90% of us still don't do them nearly as well as we could.

Ride on,

J~

They generally place signposts & that in the worst possible position for bikers, fail in a corner & it's straight in line.
