Sorry guys I have only just now seen the replies! But I took it to the shop and they've had it for about 2 weeks now. They creamed the tank for me. It has a little rust in it. As far as the bogging down and everything, they rebuilt the carbs and they say so far it runs like new. The did an oil change and changed the filter. And I also asked them to look at something else the bike was doing. When it was running good I could ride for about 20 mins then it would shut off and wouldn't crank until I waited a couple minutes. And would do that every 3 minutes after that. So they told me it was some type of sensor. And that they were gonna rewire it for me. I was thinking it was the ignition box but they didn't think so. But either way the said it runs great now. I'm picking it up this week sometime. They haven't given me an exact price yet, but the estimate is $260. Is that good or bad?

The bike shutting off, does it happen when it's warm out?

Sounds like the tank vent, you need to disassemble the gas cap and remove the two small red diaphragms

IMHO this should be done regardless, because sooner or later the small diaphragms gets old, dries out, and sticks shut.

It happens no matter what. I do need a new gas cap but I'm not sure that's it. It definitely has a wiring problem. But I'll definitely get that done. You think if I just got a new gas cap if that would help?

No new gas cap, just remove the small red diaphragms as I stated earlier, you'll be better off in the long run.

Have you inspected and cleaned the spark plug caps? This is a very overlooked issue.

Well I have to get a new gas cap anyways. Somebody drilled a hole into my key slot on my gas cap and now it won't close.
