07 Front Stand?

Hey all, so when I got my ninjette I bought the front stand Cycle Gear suggested since it needed a tire. It was 2 pads that lifted from the bottom of the forks. Big mistake, would not stay on and led to a big ordeal and they wouldnt refund it. I then bought a triple tree stand but it doesnt appear to have the right pin size (I thought it was 17mm but that was too small).

So, what pin size do i need or what style stand should I get? Should be noted ive done the naked conversion so I have a round headlight and no front fairings. Thanksss

What work do you need to do to the bike? With the bike on the center stand, I just use a jack under the front of the engine oil pan, with a piece of wood in between to protect the aluminum.

The Pitbull fitment guide says that the 2007 and earlier 250's just use the standard pin. But TBH, as long as the pin fits in there and lifts the bike all the way up, it doesn't need to be a very tight fit for the bike still to be completely stable. It's essentially impossible for the bike to fall off. I used the same front pin for all of my sportbikes, as it's a pain to keep swapping pins to make them fit perfectly. Even though theoretically they all have different optimal sizes, the same one (which I believe was a #2) worked fine for the ninjettes, an R6, a ZX-12R, and a ZX-10R.

I don’t change the pin in my front stand but rather use a deepwell socket that fits over the pin and inside the triple good, taking up the slack and limiting lateral movement.

The tried and true method. You can get jacks from an auto parts store. An auto parts is usually a good source as their prices are lower, due to quantity.

I just hang mine from ceiling beams:

Can also hang from ladder, or swing-set, or tree.

Nice thing about hanging it is you don't have stand on ground right where you're trying to work and tripping over it all the time.
