I was a member before, and now I'm back. I just bought a 2001 EX250. It's in wonderful condition. The previous owner took great care of it and did some smart upgrades. It has a larger front sprocket. It still pulls great off the start. The rear shock is from the EX500.
I found the M8 x 1.25 threads on the clutch perch. I pulled off the plastic cover. I added a 1" Ram ball. Onto that went the short extender to the Ram X mount for the iPhone.
My N o c o charger says the AGM battery is in great shape.
I hauled the Ninja home using my Ultimate Cycle lift on the back of my Ford Expedition.
Yesterday, I got the state stuff all done. Then using the key blank info here, I got the copy keys cut. I keep the Kawasaki original tucked away so I don't lose it.
Cheers,
Bill G.

I've had a blue one and a lime green as well. This is the first 2001 for me. I didn't know there were red ones. Yes, it does pop!
The owner/seller told me the original mufflers were the black chrome. He tossed them as they were roughed up. The chrome ones are more or less perfect.
The graphics are factory applied decals. Nope, not paint.
I just stuck in a LED brake/tail light. It's working alright.
I'll get some more pics after some riding.
I bought a subscription to cyclepedia service manual. I have a PDF of a manual, but the cyclepedia versions are excellent, better and bigger photos in color. It makes things easier.

I had a red one years ago! Slightly different paint scheme, and way worse shape
