Snorkel removal questions
So I've been reading alot about removing the snorkel from the airbox and it seems like it is a good mod to do, my question is, do I have to have a jet kit to do this or is it something i can do and get away without using one, I have a stock exhaust for right now. I plan on getting a jet kit down the road. but for right now can i run without a snorkel without a jet kit.

im no wiz at jetting, but if you removin the snokle you should at least shim the neeedles cause you will be running very lean and could damage the engine.

You may not need to shim at all. I shimmed with 2 washers when I installed my slip-on & removed the Clean Air System (got an assortment pack at Radioshack & just used the smallest ones that would fit). After i removed the snorkel, my bike was running rich, so I just removed one washer and it rides better, I haven't tested it back with 0 washers.

I tried the removing snorkel w/o shimming ..bike seem to run fine, but it was running a bit lean. Ended up just putting the snorkel back in.
In reality, removing it gives no extra bonus to do it without shimming! |

So if I remove it, I should either jet it or shim it. correct?

Removing snorkel w/ stock exhaust = shim

So Would i be able to run a jet kit if i just remove snorkel and install a slip on, or is it just shimming and a better choice since it is cheaper to do. or can u only run a jet kit with a full exhaust?

You can do a full jetkit anytime.. just no real need for it, for anything less than a full exhaust change including header pipes.
