Question Chain & Sprocket?

I'm confused, and worried.
I have a '12 250. Recently, probabbly right around 1k miles ago, i put him in the shop, got new tires, had a new sprocket and new chain put on and all was well. We had to do a little adjusting because we were riding crooked for a bit, but we got it handled and everything was torqued tight and all was well again.

Rode about 5-600 miles, then tightened the chain, like normal. All was STILL well.
I rode him to work yesterday. noticed i heard what sounded like the chain jump ONCE on my way to work, didn't think anything of it because we have a rocky road, i figured it was a rock hitting something, rode fine. Rode home, round trip about 75 miles. Heard the chain making racket on the way in. So when i got home my boyfriend and i checked it out. The chain was EXTREMELY loose. He says like loose to the point of it not being able to be tightened. We looked on the chain, at every link, for any marks or signs of stretching or anything abnormal. nothing was off.

Can someone help?? I'm at a loss. and terribly sad that i can't ride my bike in the gorgeous weather.

Also, sorry for the ridiculous long post, just wanted to include as much as possible.

My first question is how many links is the chain? If the correct amount of links it should be adjustable.

Count the links, and also what gears did the shop put on, how many teeth?

Pictures of the adjustment?

Not sure about how many teeth, It was correct before this happened though.

It's geared 14/45? It's geared stock still, we just put new sprockets on it.

Yes that's the OEM gearing, so now you need to count the links, if too many, then that's why your chain is already at the maximum adjustment.

I'm not sure, when i had the shop put it on they said they cut it down to be right. The chain fit perfect for a while, and when we tightened it, it was very minimal. After we tightened it after that, it was great until recently.

OEM length is 106 links, since they cut it, I would take the time to verify it.

After that I would bring it back to the shop, and have them check it out, a new chain shouldn't stretch that much.

I'll get some pictures in the morning. My boyfriend and i worked on it some this evening. We tightened the chair, got everything tightened up and situated. He took it on a little test ride. About a mile. Came back, the chain was LOOSE. Like 2 inches of slack. :/

Not gonna provide pictures, but that's just because we found the issues.

Volar chains are no bueno. I got the phone call from the shop and they told me the chain is just stretching as soon as any tension is put on it.

DID here we come.

Didn't the shop put the chain on? Didn't they supply the chain?

The shop did put the chain and sprockets on, but we supplied the chain and sprocket set. We made a decision to buy the chain and sprocket set online, got a decent deal, but didn't realize the poor quality due to the lack of reviews. All in all, a $50 lesson. Nothing to break the bank, and no injuries, Thankfully!

Gotcha. I accidentally piss off so many complete strangers that I've lost track of it, but I rarely post here, so I was confused.
