Pro Grip Tank Protector

Hi everyone, new here... Been looking into a tank grip/protector and decided on the Pro Grip. Seem to be coming across 2 of them online - the "original" and the "small" version. Any pointers? Thanks.

Not sure what the small one is.... but I'd go with the original.

Welcome to Ninjette and enjoy your stay!

Not sure what you are looking for tank grip and a tank protector are two different things.

as for the protector either size will work on the ninjette, I recommend the original.

as for tank grip get the stomp grip, i like it best over the others.

Thanks guys. I figured the smaller one was for something else but thought it was worth some expertise. The grip/protector wording confused me too but apparently that's what they're calling it (http://www.powersportsuperstore.com/...-p/4129684.htm).

Pro Grip is the brand name and tank protector is the item name/description

My 250 came with a 2 piece Progrip tank protector. I couldn't find an exact pic online but its similar to this one, except its solid black, not carbon fiber "look". The 2 piece one is probably easier to apply.

My 636 has one that I received free from Fast Bikes magazine and its holding up well so far. I also added Stomp Grip pads for the sides on the 636 and am contemplating them for the 250 because they work so well.

Make sure you do a really good job cleaning your tank, remove and wax, etc. by using rubbing alcohol, and I also heated the area with a hairdryer to make it stick better.

Very good tips about cleaning it and warming it up. It's cold as hell here (well, by pnw standards). Here's what I ordered - $8.49 zero tax/shipping.

I put a clear Pro Grip on my bike a few months ago. Pics HERE
As Chad said, clean very well with alcohol pads and heat the area/pad with hair dryer. That will help you make MINOR adjustments once placed. They're very sticky so measure, measure, and measure again before pealing the backing. I used blue painters tape to stick it to the tank and line it up before pealing the adhesive. So far, I'm very pleased with the ProGrip product. Take your time and post pics of the finished product! Good luck!

I have the small version of the Pro Grip. With the upright seating position of the Ninja, I didn't see the need in the full size. All personal preference though.

I love these things...sexy as hell. It was the first mod I ever did to my bike, right on the showroom floor the day I picked it up. The paint under it is probably still so crisp...
