Kickstand switch...Pre-Gen CDI

So i'll start off by saying that the wiring harness is not even on the frame and that I haven't ridden the bike in exactly 1 year since today

Just a few questions for those who have done this mod :

1. Does the clutch switch still work

2. Does the gear switch work (i.e can you accidentally start it in gear)

3. Is there a way to get the kickstand switch working again

Number 3 is my main concern as I will (eventually) be passing on the Ninja, most likely to a 1st time rider.

I searched around and didn't get far but I remember when this mod was new nobody attempted to get the kickstand switch working again...if I remember correctly there was some talk about something involving 12v, the CDI and the kickstand switch

Has anybody attempted anything as of yet or should I start looking through the wiring diagram for a solution.

many thanks !

I don't think there is much danger as the stand will kick up and back if it scrapes. That said, I need to know where the kickstand switch connects on the pregen harness. I didn't even see a kickstand switch in the pregen parts diagram (checked "Stands," "Frame Fittings," "Wiring Harness," etc), but I certainly see them for sale and intend to buy one (mine doesn't have one).

Thanks. Wow. That doesn't help me visualize where it goes and how it attaches at all. I guess I'll need to find someone with a stock pregen or just make sure it is bypassed.

That is partially true, i've never scraped it with it bypassed but I did see (and hear of) a few horror stories of people going down because of it.

Generally they were the type of people who just jump on the bike and pin it....then the first left corner they see

Like I said, i'm only concerned about the next owners safety as it will almost certainly be a first time rider.

Anybody have any ideas ?

thanks guys

The stands not on the frame at the moment and the switch has long since been removed after I bridged the 2 wires.

The wires that connect to the kickstand switch are exactly what you showed (green and black)...

thanks

its good the wires are there.

the kickstand switch is directly actuated by the kickstand so it should not be too hard to figure out how it mounts.

Is it shared with the center stand or is that one not detected due to automatically folding up when moving forward?
