You betcha Chone! The tent and such is good to go. Looking forward to riding with you though, find a way to make it happen. If you wanna ride a few novice sessions to shake off the cobwebs lemme know and I will make it happen.

Here is a pic to make this thread more fun. Sorry for the pic quality, my wife took the pic with the cell phone.
Can you say FOSHIZZLE! (hint: bottom of belly pan)

FOSHIZZLE!!! Love it!

And yeah, the cobwebs are making me nervous too. Got a bad case of them right now. I spent the afternoon riding and it's a lot better but boy I'm just bad at everything again.

Helped a rider alongside the road with a broken drive belt today. Drove him 49 miles to where he wanted to go.

Then... since no good deed goes unpunished, my trailer lights stopped working but the old boat trailer still comes in to save the day. I made it home just as it got dark thank goodness.

Heading to Nelson Ledges in T-3 hours for some racing, paddock fun and camping with the family.

As far as racing goes, Imma try a different approach this time.

Hope to make some new friends too. The race day weather forecast doesn't inspire confidence this go round.

I will give a more in depth update to the weekend in a bit but since I am so terrible with names...

Add @jschuster2 to the list of members meet. I got some nice video of our wet race. There were a couple of other new 250 racers (non-members) that I got chat with as well.

Race report:
One racer (Don) put on rains, everyone else on dots. Guess who won... yea Don. He used every trick in the book too. He had to have ran through the puddles to splash the water all over the track. hahahahhahaha

I got:
250 Superbike Race 1: 2nd
250 Superbike Race 2: 2nd

Was actually the most fun I have ever had racing in the wet.

And you know what the kick in the sack is? I helped him put the rain tires on FML. But it was worth it in the end to see him leave the track with a smile. He and I are tied up in championship points now.

Vet Rider Bill Bloom!

What can ya say about a guy that has been racing longer than I have been alive (I am 40yrs old) and still puts down impressive lap times. Sitting down with this man for a chat will yield stories about riders flying off track through corn fields. He tells of the fans not knowing who ran off track/crash but could see the stalks moving from the rider going through. He also told stories of working on Elvis's bike at Graceland and old school racing the Daytona 200 (when it was still on sand!!!!! ) and that just scratches the surface.

I have been lucky enough to race with this gentleman this season and the end of last season, he is not scored with my class but instead the vintage group and I am glad, cause he is still fast and I have lost count how many times he passed me. I learned quite a few things from him, to just go over a few....

When to keep your mouth shut, letting others shine is important as it may not come often for them.
You can go faster in the wet than you ever thought you could, even with DOTS. YMMV he said, not all tracks have the grip.
Ride whatcha got, nobody cares. (Check the pics of his track rig below, old school RV)
If it aint broke, don't fix it. (again, relevant to his track rig and bikes)
Gettin' wet never hurt nobody... rainy race days are some of the best where you learn the most.
Patience... why is everyone in such a hurry.
Winning isn't everything, if it is... you aint gunna last long here. (He says that... but then I seen the signs on his trailer and bikes "FastTrax Vet. Champ x3")
Treat your lady right, if she comes to the track with ya, better damn well make sure she is happy.
Tire warmers are nice... ya.... (fyi... I have never seen him use any)
Earplugs coming in handy when you're camping at the track, and your pit neighbors pug attempts to keep you up all night.

The list can go on and on but that is the short list. Enjoy the updated pics and don't underestimate the power of experience. Yes... I am saving what he told me about riding for myself, his advice is pure gold... sorry, not sharing those nuggets but I will use em against ya in the next race.

Respect to you Bill! He is what we call a "LIFER" (in it for life).

On a happier note...

Props to Josh! He is a corner worker at Nelson Ledges Road Course and track car driver. I was blessed with a few minutes of his busy time to pick up my sunglasses that fell from the seat of my bike as I entered the course in turn 1. He did his thing without a second thought to ensure that no one's safety was compromised due to my error. He also, had an announcement that the glasses were found and could be picked up at his station.

Josh, on behalf of all track day riders... thank you for all you do. It was a pleasure spending just 5 minutes with you.

ps.... beware that very angry bird that is guarding it's young just off your station.

Soooo many hands shaken tonight.

Went to a rider's benefit tonight. Nearly $6k raised to support him getting a prosthetic leg that will enable him to ride again. Guessing about 100 give or take bikes out in support with raffles, good food, another free stunt show and good people.

The ride home was fun with the wife on the back while deer/dog dodging.

One rider won a free track day at Nelson Ledges that will be pitting with me next round. A gift that gives skills that last a lifetime. Oh, he was not the only one that got a free track day.

One more nugget from last night's benefit. We all bought raffle tickets for a "split the pot". The pot was nearly 1k, so the split was $450. So they draw a ticket and a gent won. What did he do? Simply said "keep it" all nonchalant like a boss.

Brian has some karma comin' his way.

Fun stuff that we are working on that you don't know about.

This season is starting to take shape to what I have envisioned.

My Sunday rides include no friends, no boat, and no shifter losing. Why do I feel like I need friends, a boat, and a loose shifter now lol

The end of the vid is what it's all about, with a bit of fun to get there along the way. Sure group rides are hit and miss, but when you take the time to know and trust who you're riding with, it all makes sense.

Little pedal pusher, skip to around 40 or so seconds to see the little guy come around with his legs going about 5000rpm lol. Sorry for crappy cell phone vid quality.

Imma share with ya a very special day for me. I have been working with my son (Lance) playing guitar for some time, little terd is almost better than me . His graduation from middle school was his first band guitar solo w/ a volunteer teacher to act out the "eruption" (hint, hint). /proud father

Mass props to everyone that helped my son along the way and his best friend's dad.
