Have you been screwed by Shinto Racing?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this one, apologies if it should have gone elsewhere.

Sometime back I ordered a fibre-glass fender eliminator from Shinto Racing. Never arrived. I emailed through EBay (where I bought it from) but didn't receive an answer. I can't get my money back through ebay because I allowed too much time to pass before lodging a complaint.

I left negative feedback and today another customer emailed me after seeing my comments asking if I ever received what I had ordered as he had been through the same ordeal too.

Is dealing with Shinto a matter of pot luck or what, because I have definitely been conned.

I feel bad for you. Did you pay with a credit card or pay-pal (which I think is a rip-off it's self). I'm not a big ebay user because of the trouble people have had getting ripped off. If you paid with a credit card call your credit card company and file a complaint.

paid through Paypal but this is the first time that I needed to lodge a complaint - the timeframe given to complain is ridiculous and the procedure is too long drawn out. So, next time, if the option is available I'll try to use my card - the thing is, Paypal seems to be becoming more popular so my choices on how to pay will decrease.

PayPal is no scam, but they're certainly not running the operation as well as could possibly be done.

Always check who you're buying from. Are they a "Power Seller" or similar? I only do business with people who have a disgusting amount of good sales and feedback.

Have you tried contacting the guy behind Shinto Racing? He's registered on here.
As far as i know, he have had some trouble with the people which are producing stuff for him. Don't know if it's related to your problem here though.

And, if you have been waiting for a while for stuff to arrive, it should not be too late to file a complaint. I would assume it is the date from which you figured you would not get your product, that you need to send a complaint. I would follow up on them with more e-mails, their just trying to get away easily i believe.

Check the forsale section. He has some issues with carbon fiber supplier thus couldn't deliver. He is getting another supplier.

At the time, Shinto's ad said that items would be posted at the end of May due to trouble in the region. Fair enough.

Hovewer when, 5 weeks later I messaged them to see what if the item had been posted I got no reply. The very least I expected was a small 'sorry mate, having trouble with our supplier, will keep you posted'.

Anyway. Lesson learned, I guess.

You can try contacting the owner of the company, Paul who is a member here... ThaiNinjaRR or possibly Vince (Want1sobad) who is the US distributor.

I managed to contact Paul. Apparently he never got my email and promised a full refund. I'll let you know how the whole affair concludes.

Why not voice your concerns in that other thread and see if it helps?

please refrain from starting these negative threads

guys,

i understand there a some people who have placed orders with paul in the past and experienced problems. keep in mind that paul is a one man show, not a company. he is doing everything on his own. he ran into some serious issues with his fabricators that has since been resolved (he fired them and went with some better people). last but not least, Thailand was essentially a war zone for some time. there are many satisfied customers out there. paul's products are very high quality and the fact that he focuses exsclusively on our ninja 250 should be supported. it is for these reasons that i decided to step us as his US distributor. i am commited to offering great service regarding all orders placed through myself. anyone who has emailed or pmed me can attest to my quick response times. as i am in the infant stages of trying to get Shinto USA up and running, please refrain from these "let's bash shinto threads".

paul is a stand up guy, for anyone that has placed an order previously and not received anything. he will issue a refund and those individuals can order through me at the lower price points, etc.

thanks

My last request was confused with Paul, just as it was when I bought the kit Koso. He said he sent on the 14th of August, then went to the 29th of August and today was finally dispatched to Brazil.

My confidence is shaken

never again and I suggest you shouldn't either

Not trying to bash anyone just want people to know before they dish out a lot of money this might happen to you if you are dealing with Paul from shinto.

My experiences with shinto save your time and money. Customer service is absolutely terrible once he receives the money, I have heard every excuse in the book from Paul on why the products are not shipping, I was even given fake tracking numbers twice so I would leave him alone ( I guess he was running out of excuses ) took months before I finally received my products and when I did I was missing parts and now Paul will not reply, in process of filing a report with my credit card company for $880.00. If you want the headache go for it but you have been warned just do a little research in this forum I am not the only one here

Repeatedly posting the same info in multiple threads is, in fact, bashing somebody. Vince (want1sobad on this board) has worked to try and fix a number of customer service issues with getting Shinto parts into the country by setting himself up as a US distributor, and from what I can tell his customers are generally happy at the moment.

It may be worth pinging him to see what is up.

Yep, I got shorted by Paul at Shinto. I sent him the money via PayPal in August - now it's almost Christmas and I have no money or parts. It's too late to dispute the PayPal payment, so I'm officially scammed.

The part that's become a problem is that Paul is actually ignoring my emails - he responded with some garbage in September about shipping it later in the week, but it's all just stupid. I've had Vince, who always responds promptly, forward several of my emails to Paul to ensure that he gets them, but he keeps on ignoring me.

I'm not posting this to slander Paul in any way - he's definitely being rude, but I'll consider it reconciled with no hard feelings if I can just get my money back.

edit - tried to make the post less angry and confrontational; I really just want a refund

i waited four months, i was real polite. then after being ignored through emails, enough was enough, i threatened the **** outta him, told him if i didn't receive my parts or money back. i'd make sure no one ever bought parts off him again. every motorbike site on the net i could find would be told that he's a massive tosser and never to order anything off him.
he responded....
gave some rubbish about my emails going to junk (bollocks), 1 week later a rear hugger showed up, not the one i ordered, but one of those ebay ones, whatever, least i had something.
my advice, hassle the **** outta him, threaten him whatever it takes.
then stick to reputable companies, with paypal order carts and a good reputation. don't be afraid to ask people around here if they have used them and are happy with the service.
if well all look after after each other like that, it would stop a lot people being screwed by tosser's like that.

Steven, there is no reason to have threaten him. It's no wonder he sent you an Ebay hugger. You right to you wanting the part you ordered, but he is a buissness.

true. its very out of character for me. but i laid down $220, and nothing to show for it, i not in the habit of throwing away money for some1 elses benefit.
it was the only way he responded to me.
i wouldn't call it a business dude. its more like a casino, people come in, empty their pockets, and the odd one gets lucky.

the least paul could do is give an update to his customers on whats happening with their order instead of leaving them in the dark for such a long time.

i have been away from a while. but the absolutly rude and untrue comments posted above are not well taken.

The Ebay hugger? what does that mean, all the huggers i sell are the same...
there is no diference debtween the hugger i sold on ebay or the huggers i sell here. so thats a rather rude coment.

i dont know what to say...

I will not reply to Rude, and threatening emails.

I reply to ALL emails that come to me on support@shinto-racing.com.

I guess we will use this thread to check and discuss the order shipment/order status since the other thread was requested by Vince to be closed.
So with Alan (thaininja) help, we were able to get in touch with the f*cker Paul (The "Shito" owner) and he finally agreed to send our craps (agreed, but do it or not is a different issue).
So why are we still waiting?
Possibly another false promise by Shito paul as he has done numerous times...
After Shito owner (Paul) disappearance, no email, no communication after tons of promises, we all agreed that NO MORE NEW ORDERS should be placed. Our beloved Shito distributor agreed and sworn by it that everything is paid. Whatever new orders from customers should be refunded (and that if business is to continue, new order should only be placed AFTER all new order is shipped/received). Well hell, it turned out that new order still beaming (per thaininja's PM) and since some supplies are not ready, payment is withheld. Paul probably used this excuse as "still waiting for money" as he always does. So now what? We are back to square one waiting again?
Shito continues to ignore email communications and Allan (thaininja) is fed up with all the lies (and one sided stories from both sides) and decided not to intervene anymore.

Please correct me if I'm interpretting the facts wrongly.

Its ok the only way he would refund me is if I took down my posts on here of emails I received from him that showed I had payed him.. said he sent it.. then said he didn't and he would... then said he sent it a week before that.. then he would refund me my money and since he had already sent me a F/E I guess I should enjoy the free product. BTW that was in April / May ... I still haven't seen the "free product" LOL. (not that I care, I don't even own a ninja anymore)

Just my 2 cents .. I'm not trolling just saying. GL guys

What also sucks is all this talk of Vince taking additional new orders, asking express delivery, etc. are all technicalities. It's so trivial I really don't know if Paul or anyone else who's siding with Paul truly understands what the true issue is here: Paul's got the customer's money and won't ship out the products.

Let's address the additional new orders (if in fact that was the case): Solution--Don't ship them out. Simple as that. Ship out what you've received payment for. Vince wired additional money for whatever additional shipping expense Paul claimed. Again, Paul confirmed payment.

Now, Paul is giving Allan more excuses as to why Paul is in the right as to why he shouldn't ship out these paid parts.

Word of advice, don't deal with these 3rd world sellers. I'm not saying they're all bad but most one man show/small mom & pop stores don't comprehend the concept of customer service because their cultural upbringing is very different. Money holds weight in their country far more than "doing the right thing". And as Allan had eluded to, establishing a business (means of communication, shipping, etc.) are not that easy. This by no means is an excuse for Paul because in his case it's just simply plain as white on rice.

It's Tuesday...Wednesday over there...did Paul ship them out as promised? No? Let me guess...more excuses, right?

Wow, this guy is unbelievable.

No excuses needed. The new style nowadays is: All emails from customers are just simply ignored.

you know, usually when suppliers don't have enough stock in hand they put that on their website when the consumer tries to order something, it says "out of stock" and they normally list the date of when stock will arrive.

I've never personally ordered anything from Shinto, but seems there are so many threads of bashing going on. I just don't get why the owner just doesn't stop taking on more then he can chew.
