Weekend Mods

Ok, so I have finally decided it is time to strip her down and do some mods. I currently have a 2bros slip on. I have been getting annoying backfire every time I let off the throttle. I picked up the $2 assorted washers at Radio Shack today. I am planning to tear the bike down maybe this weekend. I know I need to take the Kleen Air out. (hopefully this will get rid of the backfire) or I am coming to HI and looking for KKim j/k. But I am thinking since I am pulling the kleen air out, I might as well shim as well. Anyone have any other recommendations to do? I want to do everything all at once. Can I pull the snorkel as well? I may pick up the pods but that might be another day. Please let me know if I should/can pull the snorkel out and anything else I should/can do at this time.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

pull the snorkel and shim with 3 washers as you pull the Kleen system to cure the backfiring.

Do this and you'll be coming to Hawaii, all right... but to thank me.

Kkim: should i just put 3 washers and call it a day? How come I was reading and everyone was saying 2 or 3? whats the difference? (I am still a noob)

use the washer with the smallest hole that will fit over the needles.

Ok so you said 2-3 for aftermarket can and snorkel removed too. So I am guessing I am good with 3 washers.

Side note: Is the K&N R-0990 in your sig, the air filter? if so, is it worth getting?

for now, just do the mods you plan.

the 0990 filter requires that you pull the airbox... it is not the same as the drop in filter.
