Taillight issues
Hi all,
So I got pulled over the other night, and besides the terror and tears and whatnot it was a surprisingly pleasant experience. The officer simply pulled me over to tell me that my taillight was out. I go home and take a peek, and it works while braking, but when the headlights are on, it simply won't light up. I replaced the bulb to no avail, then replaced the fuse, and am still getting the problem. I'd like to get back to nighttime riding so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Shorter version: Taillight works when braking, not otherwise, replaced bulb and fuse, problem not fixed Thx for the help! Last futzed with by Tangent; March 21st, 2012 at 09:14 AM. |

Have you checked your connections to make sure there isn't a short, loose wire, or bad connection?

I checked everything that was pretty apparent (I'm no motorcycle maintenance expert) and it all seemed good, but bike is naked right now for other reasons so it shouldn't be too hard to take a second look!

Sure it was the right bulb? (dual-filament)

You will need to check the circuit from the bulb back to the source using a test lamp or a multimeter until you find the point at which the juice is interrupted.
Best
