SoCal: Angeles Crest Highway Tuesday March 31, 2009
I'll be at the Shell gas station at 8:45am, and head out at 9:00am.
I'm having breakfast at Newcomb's Ranch. Anyone want to join? Ride your own ride. (even though there's probably just 1 or 2 of you that'll show up LOL). I want to see how my Woodcraft clip-ons feel. Route from Jay's Shell to Newcomb's Ranch. Jay's Shell:

Ken, you installed them? I'm going to follow Kelly's write-up to the T once I get some extra time. I have all the tools necessary. And the torch
What was your personal experience like, drilling, mounting, etc. How long did it take you? Also, I might be in for the Tuesday ride. 9:45 might be late, I have to be in the office around 10:45. - Chris

Chris,
Kelly's DIY thread is great. I didn't really keep track of the time I spent working on the clip-ons, since I also spent alot of time paying attention to trading stocks... so a lot of back and forth and washing my hands to use my computer... but I started around 9am and finished around noon. Mounting for clearance and trying to get everything symmetrical took the bulk of my time. The clutch grip was a piece of cake since there wasn't much adhesive used so yanking it off was easy. Drilling was a piece of cake. Measuring where to drill was pretty easy. It wasn't hard at all. I'm down for earlier too since it's my day off. If you want to meet up 8:45a -9am or even earlier at Shell let me know. Kelly: I'm going there for the steak and eggs! No matter my past experience!!

Gotta bail on tomorrow.
I picked up my new bike tonight. I wanted my friend to give me a ride but I ended up having to ride to the dealership myself so my 250 is still there and I gotta pick it up tomorrow. Some other time. Rice safe, d00dz. |

It would for sure. But I want to feel it out a little more before I get to the canyons.
But then again, I might just go "feel it out" tonight and ride in the morning. I'd rather ride the 250 with my 250 brethren though. |

Also, ride was ideal today. I left early and rode down solo. Ken and his friend Alex were finishing their food when I left. Yes, Ken got the steak and eggs again.

Great ride again Chris!
What's up with the no-shows! It was a little chilly but the road was clear. There were a bunch of vintage bikes. I'll upload pictures later.
