Thumbs up Malibu Ride: Sunday 01-24-2010: PCH, Rock Store, Neptune's Net

Since it was only diablo250 and I, we ran this flat out when we could. Pinning the throttle in the straights, and top speed runs on PCH and I10.
Twisties was lots of slow speed turns and got our pictures taken on the "Snake" by the snake photographer. The snake (just west of the Rock Store) is where you see all the mulholland crash videos on youtube. Will post those pics of us as soon as it is available. Was an adrenalin rush for sure.
Link to the route we decided on:
Topanga Canyon to Rock Store
Rock Store via Mulholland to Neptune's Net
Neptune's Net to Lookout

Pics at the stops along the way:

Nice pics! Too bad I missed out guys.
I've been meaning to head that way. Haven't rode Malibu-tay since I had the GSXR.

On the bright side, I did manage to tune the living crap out of my bike today. I'll be ready to go for next time.

Great route and looks like a good time. I took a couple of those roads back on New Years and really had a blast. The Snake in particular really makes you feel alive, and getting a souvenir photo afterwards makes it that much sweeter ^_^ I expect to see some knee dragging as soon as those thumbnails get posted

I've never taken Old Topanga Canyon though. Looks decently twisty. How's that compare to the regular, uh... not old Topanga Canyon?

I took a much wimpier route out in that general area today. I wasn't out there early enough to cross paths with you guys though. Too bad. I'll have to join you next time so I can redeem myself

It was great to explore the other routes. Old Topanga is full of slow turns and well as the last leg of Mulholland. The roads that were shaded from the sun were very damp, and many parts still had runoff across the road. I had to partly hose my bike down because of the mud.
Our club is planning one next month with lots of riders and will do a speed limit pace! Check you PM if you want to join our club and rsvp for this meet.

I know you're out in Riverside. That is far! But we did think of you guys that couldn't make it. Riding the slab for any distance is energy sapping! I had to ride 20 miles and that was enough!
Glad you found the tune!

I did head up through Azusa today---a little dirty and slippery but it was fun.....I didn't have much time as I had other obligations.....I definately want to do that ride---I've always heard of it but never experienced it...

KC--did you get my pci today?

Leo- let us know when your club is heading out--

My bike only had 1000mi last week! You are catching up fast!
Come to The Hat's Temple City (broadway and rosemead) at 8:30pm every thursday night and ride with my scooter club. You get real good on the street if you do this often not to mention learning how to ride with a group!
