06/13/10 Wild Ninjette 500 Mile Day Cruise to Carrizo Plain and Hwy 58 to 101

With 2 friends we set out from ACH Shell at 9am. Winding our way thru hwy 150 to Ojai, and then Hwy 33 to Maricopa and Taft. From there we found the north side of Carrizo Plain with a view of Soda Lake.
Carrizo Plain was very desolate and hot! Then the ride thru Hwy 58 was really interesting with turns of every kind including roller coaster ride to the coast. My kind of road!
Way home we stopped by the Madonna Inn, and pressed on to Santa Barbara for some seafood. Even got to watch the last part of the NBA finals! Go Lakers!
Home by 10pm!

Nice report! I love that area. 58 is one of my favorite roads in the state.

Hey Adrian!
I'm scheduled to go to northern california city of Redcrest for a Ninja 250cc
2010 GRR Awards
http://forums.ninja250.org/viewtopic...4416da2#801354

If I decide to cancel it due to nobody in socal wanting to ride up there together, then will join you! Those iron butt riders are so independent way they get to meets. I get bored riding 800 miles up there alone!
So glad you can start doing these group rides.

Just rode through there on Saturday; the Avenue of the Giants is a fantastic road.
