towing capacity....
This might come across as a really stupid question and I know I'm going to be told to get a bigger bike (or just a car), but could the 250 pull off something like this?

I think it would do it but you would be pulling the guts out of the poor little thing.

Wind resistance will be your biggest enemy with something like that. I certainly would ride two up and pull a trailer.

Deffinately not ideal. But I think the bike would be able to pull a small trailer. The only problem with a kayak is how much wind it will catch. Just take it really slow.

You could also look into getting a collapsable kayak.

Another thing to consider. Where are you gonna hook it up to? Cruisers like that have a really low rear end and can have a small trailer hook attached. The 250, like all other sport bikes, has a really high rear end which would leave you no where but the swing arm to attach a trailer to. Does the 250 have the power to do it? Probably. Does have the ability to do it? Not really cause you don't have anywhere to hook a trailer up to w/o some major mods to the rear end.

There was a couple of guys that showed up at Atlanticade with 2 sportsbikes and trailers they made to bring stuff. All i remember is they were from Ontario promoting their creation. Never got a business card as they were busy with potential clients. Here's a cell pic not best quality.

I really like that little trailer cause they were designed specifically for sportbikes. I was volunteering at this event and didn't really have time to asks questions with all these ppl around. Maybe this year i'll get some information and price.

Very cool setup. That would be great for those that like to camp and can't find a place to strap their gear down.

Sucks you need to put a tag on it .
Should qualify as a trike with it attached. |

They are a cool setup and have a couple different designs depending on what you want. Here is a link to the web site

The tag can't cost much. Usualy the cost is associated with weight/capacity.

Looks like it has break and turn signal lights so you would have to splice a harness into your lights. Nice safety feature, although probably mandatory for a trailer even of that size.

What does the trailer weigh? Consider that riding with another person adds 100-200# so if this is less than that all loaded up you should be fine.
As others mentioned before, the wind effects are going to be the big issue. |
