I would like to say thank you kuro. Because you bought this bike you have not only helped yourself but me as well. My Honda stock has gone up almost 20 percent in the past two days. Coincidence? I think not

Congrats on the bike Kuro. Hey picture geeks, it's a brand new bike rolled right off the showroom floor. I've recently found this great tool called Google that helps you find the darnedest things, including pictures of stock motorcycles!

Here's a few of the 2009 CBR600RR in Kuro's paint scheme (which I agree is one of the nicest ones for that bike )

Surprisingly I was leaning further/riding harder on the right side today.

Which is odd because my left side was my "strong" side when I'm on the 250.

I don't really know why it changed..

just thought it "odd" the wear pattern on the left was so defined, like that's as far as the bike would lean.

maybe just how the roads were???

Not really sure. Good question. the tires on my 250 are pretty even. I definitely could have gone a little further but I was trying to be conservative. :P

As I understand it, the edge of the front tire of a supersport is harder to reach...

GMR sure does look like fun. Here's a flyby up GMR and then out Glendora Ridge Road for awhile using Google Earth. Instructions on how to get it to work are right in this post.

Quote:
For folks who want to play along at home, make sure you have Google Earth installed, and load up the attached .kmz file. In the Google Earth Tools menu, choose options. Go to the touring tab, and use the following settings:

Camera tilt angle: 60
Camera range: 150 meters
Speed: 500

Hit apply. Go to the Path that's within the path.kmz file you loaded in the left pane, select it, and press the play button. Uncheck the path checkbox for the most realistic experience, and the blue route won't be on the map anymore. You'll basically be flying down this same road as if you were in a helicopter, following the road almost exactly. Hit F11 to make it full-screen.

BTW

I'm already pretty comfortable riding this bike aggressively.

I attribute most of my ability on this bike to riding my 250 for a year street and track. I learned to build confidence and learn so many techniques and aspects about riding on a bike that is much less intimidating and with a much larger margin for error. Stuff like braking hard, rev matching downshifts while braking at the same time, getting comfortable with leaning the bike, line choice, getting comfortable with riding over bumps while leaned over, etc. All that stuff.

It made it easy to jump right into the CBR and get adjusted to it quickly.

don't let the extra power bite you... and adjust the suspension better to your riding weight and style.

Yeah. I've been pretty easy with the throttle. I'm used to coming out of corners with the acceleration of the 250, which is not much , so I'm just working on building the same kind of skill/confidence on the 600RR before I worry about things like trying to power out of turns hard... But I'm doing good so far with managing the throttle and keeping the inputs smooth. Turn in, get on the throttle as soon as possible to settle the suspension and weight distribution, then apply a little more smoothly for the rest of the turn.

I'm gonna play with the suspension tomorrow if I get a chance. Need to talk to a few people about recommendations.
