@Klondike1020 , I think those will be way too big. I'd find or make cardboard boxes the same size as those cases and mock it up to see. You'll have to keep them above the exhaust to avoid heat damage, both exterior and contents, and you don't want to block the sight line to the turn signals either. Being top loaders, the hinges on those seem low on the case, which may not allow them to be opened once mounted. Unfortunately our bikes are compact, and mounting hard cases is a real challenge.

I agree with you it wouldn't be easy

I Could make them work…. but I am thinking for 90 bucks for the cases.
+ the steel tubing and hardware and welding time.

I looked at the textile saddle bags that fit on there…. cheap and look nice
Ebay is crazy cheap

They would look good on a KLR650 though.

I just saw your original post. I did a very similar thing using a $10 tool box from walmart. 4 bolts and some washers through a spare passenger seat made for easy storage.

I am pretty sure he means "cool" to make such a tool out of sth almost useless otherwise and being practical, ingenious and money saving at the same time, just like a tool does... very tool indeed !!!! maybe if properly painted would also have the looks of a $$$ top case...
