More Practice

This time I headed out in my Civic to Catonsville. I heard there was a nice road up that way with some interesting things to see.

While the road was nice, Tyke and I will have to visit when it warms up or we get the proper gear. There are a few rough patches on some of the surrounding roads but it was nice and it was fruitful. This is in Paptsco State Park at various spots.

While I do have several pictures I'll post a few that I am proud of.

Suspension Walking Bridge over Paptsco River-

That same bridge at hip level

Life in winter

Hopefully things will improve now. On Wed. 2/4/09 I am signed up for a class that will help explain the ins and outs of my Nikon. Hopefully that will give me the information I need to understand what I got. We shall see.

Patapsco State Park

Ah, yes, Patapsco State Park! I spent many wonderful days in that park as a kid growing up nearby in Glen Burnie. There is a really neat abandoned dam close to that bridge. At one time, that foot bridge was a very unstable "swinging" bridge that we used to have a ton of laughs on. It was wiped out by the flood caused by Hurricaine Agnes in 1972, which made a mess of the Patapsco Valley in general.

Nice photos too.

Yeah I heard that bridge was once a swinging bridge. Thats what I expected when I got there but I found that one instead. I stood on it for a while and it did sway but not swing. It's still neat. During the spring/summer I want to go back and actually go along the trails... Would rather not go at it alone so I'll have to commendear someone to go with me.

River Road is kind of nice until you pass that bridge and get into the communities. Thistle road was kind of nice but only if they would un goatifiy it.

You let me know and I'll meet you! I haven't been able to make it down to VA, yet... It is a bit further to go than PA.

Of course Patapsco State park is rather huge I have been in three different areas. The nice thing is that if your not using their main picnic areas you don't have to pay. Not that it is extravigant but still.

I have been to the Viaduct, both sides. The rangers there let me slip by without paying. I think they kind of figured I wasn't there to hike.
