the lucky part was the previous owner kept it after putting the two brothers on.

Sounds like you are very attached to it.

I got pulled over yesterday for the first time on the bike. I had been riding the flow of traffic between 80 and 85mph. Was in the HOV lane. My off ramp was approaching, I used my signal and safely got over. I had been keeping my eye on the highway patrol SUV about fifty yards ahead of me so I didn't even notice the white patrol car behind me (they aren't usually white in my neck of the woods). Just as I was getting onto the off ramp he lit me up. I was okay with this. I haven't had a ticket in years and I earned this one. I was gonna take my lumps and not let it put a stormy cloud on my day. He told me he pulled me over for my speed. Asked if I knew how fast I was going. I knew damn well how fast I was going but I wasn't about to start volunteering information. I told him I wasn't paying attention to my speedometer. I was just keeping up with the flow. He told me I had been fluctuating between 75 and 85, asked for my license and then asked where I was going. He then told me to slow down and sent me on my way. WOW! From start to finish I maybe lost about 2 minutes. I can't help but think my cheerful disposition had something to do with it.

Agreed. Some people have a hard time getting the fact that the only way you can win a fight with a cop is in the courtroom with a good lawyer. You might as well be polite and not volunteer any information, and fight it in court if you have to.

I have yet to be pulled over at all in my life and I definitely go a little faster than the "flow" most mornings.

But being courteous and accepting responsibility for your actions can go a long way from what I've heard (case and point).

Today I spent some time and cleaned/regreased my rear brake caliper. Pistons had some gunk and the slider pins were sticky. I knew it was likely time for a cleaning, but I didn't know now was the time until I looked at the inboard side of my rear rotor and saw only half of it had been swept by the pads!

The caliper works much smoother now. The front brake hasn't given me problems yet.

I spent most the day getting the new speedometer mounted on the bike and started on the wiring. Hopefully will have the bike on the road tomorrow.

Today I took it for a ride, purely for the purpose of enjoying a nice ride on a nice day. It's been a while since I've done that. It was relaxing and cleared my head. I'm totally turnt for track days this coming week!! can't come soon enough!!!

My work last night cleaning my rear brake caliper was totally worth it! my whole rotor is being swept properly by my brake pads again.

Today I met up with @Kruse08 and had a fun time. Brandon is a really nice guy, I could chat for hours. We talked bikes, maintenance, cars, everything. Unfortunately I had to leave to get to work, where I'm about to leave for. I think he's got me sold on naked ninjas now. His GS500 headlight looks really clean. Still needs a tail piece though so it looks more cafe. We'll have to meet up for a ride/tech day soon.

His bodywork is gonna add 10 hp to my bike at the track.

Meeting Chris (choneofakind) was good. Leraned a handful from him and am excited to have someone to ride with that as a ton of experience working on bikes and with ride time. I hope I learn a lot from him as he is knowledgable as he does the work himself. I was a little nervous meeting him as I had no idea what he was going to think of the bike and myself. I know ny bike needs maintenance which probably lost some points in his book but I am getting to it all. Great guy and glad we were able to meet and trade parts/socialize.

moved the clip on my needles down 1 in the continuing search for perfect jetting and i cleaned and oiled my pod filter and went for a short ride to get a feel for the jetting.

Before this i moved from a 110 main to a 108, this made the WOT feel better but the 108 leaned out the 1/4-1/2 so i raised the needles today and it felt much better in those throttle positions.

Will keep this set up for a while and will probably have the bike dyno'ed with this set up as well. Feels the best out of any set up i have had which is a lot

Stared at my bike through the window as it was being rained on... in August... and 85 degrees out. This must be what it's like to live in Hawaii or Florida, lol.

Just rode the wheels off the little Ninja. Since hitting the track on the bigger bikes i own i have a new respect for the 1/4 liter bike. Always loved it but there is more appreciation for what it does and how it does it!

Actually you don't. Haven't made a Ramp yet so I threw down a 2x8 and reinforced it with a cat litter box and a milk crate and pushed it on up. Haha. Not sketchy at all. Well, maybe just a little bit.

Started tearing it down to swap the shock. Going to do the valve adjustment and rebuild/jet the carbs too. My friend Tom Collins got me sidetracked so this is as far as I'm getting on the bike today. I will however be getting farther out if you get my drift.

Nice, that's something on my list of things to do in the future. I'd like to upgrade the shocks on mine.

Today I checked tire pressure, something I should do more often lol. Both tires were about 10 psi low.

Started to install all the parts I have to restore my pre-gen to stock, starting with some black side panels I got from Dukeswift and new mirrors. To go is the upper fairing bracket, upper and lower fairings, and a new instrument housing that isn't busted. I plan on painting everything but it doesn't look too bad right now.

Also found a good spot that is easy to reach but inconspicuous to mount a knife and firestarter.

Lol those were my younger days Firestarter came with the knife. I lost my old one so I got one attached to the sheath. I like to have a firestarter since I plan to go camping and on canyon rides and prefer to have a small survival kit and med supplies on the bike along with tools.

I installed heated grips with a relay and a junction block to run an electric vest, a power outlet and voltmeter. I also made brackets to move the rear signals back to mount saddlebags. While I had the bodywork off, I gave it a good scrubbing and polish, too.

Oh get a grip. LOL

Farking heck, took my uber strong neighbor to get the bolt out of the weight on the throttle side even with me cooking it with the heat gun. So, that is fully stripped and a run to Ace for a replacement is required.

Also discovering my new cell phone hates focusing on close up items. May need to switch to my regular camera...

Now you just need some new shiny levers to match!

I may have some of them for sale soon too.

Finally took it out on some twisty roads since throwing some sonic springs and racetech emulators into the front forks. Felt amazing. I had so much more confidence and stability through the turns. It felt great to just get out there and let it rip.
I also made it jealous by riding around on my friend's 300 for a bit. The main difference was the smoothness in the power delivery and the satisfying clunkieness of the shifter. It's hard to explain, but the whole bike just had an air of smooth solidness to it, compared to the pregen. nothing rattles. same concept can be felt with a new vs old car. If I hadn't just redone my suspension I would have been left feeling very envious.

Installed a Techmount on my bike to replace my RAM mount. There is such a huge difference in build quality and aesthetics in comparison. What I love about the new TechGripper (the device that holds your phone), is that you can use any phone, case or un-cased and it's way more sturdier than the X-Grip. I am now a Techmount fan.

Today I put on a new set of dialbo scooter tires. Killer rubber, warms up within a few blocks and feels great at speed and in the twisties.

I also used airsoft pellets to balance then which works perfect.

Build a small shed, find a friend to keep it for you, keep it behind the couch. Lots of options.
