Noise polluting laws- Tennessee

I have done some searches and find that there is "no acoustical criteria" as far as muffler noise goes in the state of Tennessee; but my friend swears up and down that you have to have a baffle or your bike will be impounded. That sounds pretty crazy to me, but, he says he has heard that from a lot of people. Anybody in Tennessee know for sure what the law is as far as 'noise polluting' goes? I just assumed that since it says there is no acoustical criteria that it wouldnt matter if you had a baffle or not.

I don't know what the laws. In TN are.

With that said I haven't had any problems with my incredibly loud exhaust. (Knock on wood)

No problem and I've had some loud bikes, and heard some loud Harleys. I don't believe TN has one as well or we would have all heard about it.
