There were several "mini" lowsides. Pretty funny to watch! My first motorcycle was my dads Honda Mini Trail. It was cool. Wish I still had it. They go for $$ on eBay

Damn, that looks like serious fun! I wonder if I could actually ride on one of those. They look pretty small.

I'm sure you could. I want one now. The modified class was much faster than the stockers. It was loud and amusing.

I've been racing minis with Rocky Mountain Mini Moto for about 4 years, and it's a blast! I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to start racing. These small bikes really force you to keep your corner speed up if you want to be competitive. I've noticed that many people who start racing on a 600cc or larger bike tend to develop more of a "point and shoot" style, and may not get anywhere near their full potential in the corners.
I've been racing an '04 Honda NSR50, and added the Ninja 250 this year. As long as you're racing on a track that fits the bike, it's a lot of fun! Fortunately one of the two tracks Rocky Mountain Mini Moto uses is just big enough for the 250. Last year, I did one race with an ex AMA privateer. He'd never been on an NSR50 before, but had heard good things about what one can learn from small bike like that... He hopped on the bike, and within 10-15 minutes was absolutely flying around the track. He said the same skill set from racing a superbike pretty much transfers right over. |

There's a ton of pics here:
http://www.rockymtnphotos.com/RMMM%2...son%202011.htm I run the NSR in the F1 and F5 classes, and the Ninja 250 in the 17" Wheel class. I'm number 479 on both... And here's a video from my 250: |

I thought it was really cool how you missed that accident right in front of you early on.
