Flush Mount Turn Signal Problem

When I got my Ninja last week it came with two turn signals because the previous owner had broken one off so he took the other one off (not sure why), but the turn signals he gave me are the generic ones with dual filaments so it has three wires. I was holding the all black wire to the red wire and the black wire with the white line to the other one on the turn signal and the signal was flashing for about 15 seconds then it stopped, and wouldn't flash again. Can someone help me figure this out?

So will I have to buy the part that clips into the connector on the turn signal?

You need to replace the blown fuse. How were you holding wires to each other?

I was just holding the stripped wires to the connector pins of the turn signal
