Injected 2 strokes from KTM

Transfer port injection. Exciting potential to clean up 2 strokes to the point where they can be used on the road again. A new generation of Suzuki Cobras and silky smooth GT750 triples is a nice thought
Any one got any good 2 stroke memories? I started off on a YDS5 Yamaha

This tech has been around for ages, I'm stunned its taken a manufacturer this long t o introduce it. It's awkward to package on a single & deadly would be better with more than one injector in more than one port, but still fairly simple. Lets hope it catches on & we can get away from overly expensive & fragile 4 strokes, but to bikes roots

This may be a bit optimistic. The differences between on-road emissions levels at this point, and what KTM can get away with in race-focused off-road bikes are not negligible. It's hard enough for manufacturers to hit the latest specs with 4-strokes, advanced EFI, cats, and optimized mapping/tuning to meet the specs during the test cycle.

So sad that so many people get so bothered by a tiny bit of smoke.

The petro-chemical companies are the ones that are largely responsible for ruining the atmosphere.

Yet somehow, the end users of the products that burn their fuels have to deal with the ramifications of their actions.

I'm quite content to continue driving my 7.3l turbo diesel, ride my two-smoke motorsickles, and mind my own business. Many probably see me as a "bad man" due to the machines that I operate for a living, but I'm convinced that it's more their problem than mine.

Hey I might cut down a tree in the next few days. Does anyone want the address so the tree-huggers can have a social-media orchestrated protest? That is intended to be a joke.

At some point I might have to move to australia, where the freedom to roam and do as one pleases still exists.

Cool article!
