Are the stock tires winter friendly?

Wasup guys, I am a commuter from NE, NY to be exact. I got the bike back in May and started commute with it, love it for sure. I wanna ride it to work as much as I can. Just wonder if the stock tires are all seasons or only good for summer? Thanks in advance

Jason, I rode my 250 the past 2 winters in RI, except for January I think. The main thing is the road is cold so the tires won't be as grippy. I had a couple slips in the first few miles on a couple rides. Not sure if they even warm up as much. Just be careful, avoid leaning too much early in the ride, and watch out for the painted lines. And obviously watch out for areas of the road that might freeze or get slick on cold days (bridges, etc).

Great advice! And I agree. Just take it easy and the stock tires will treat you well. Also, if this is your first winter season on the bike, take it extra easy, especially once the sand starts flying between snow falls...

Those will do nothing for you. Sure you can warm them up all nice toasty but they wont be able to keep the heat because its so cold outside.

If you ask me the stock tires are not friendly at anything. Just remember that with colder temps and wet conditions it is important to ride a little more conservatively. You will be fine on stock tires as long as you remember that you are in adverse conditions and take added care.
