A total ground-up redesign of the original Speedmaster bootA total “ground-up redesign� of the original Speedmaster boot has resulted in the new Speedmaster 3.0 boot from Joe Rocket. Utilizing a split-grain leather construction for breathability, the new boot features an articulated and reinforced ankle design for protection with mobility, along with injection-molded resin shin, heel, and ankle armor (including a reinforced titanium ankle plate), and foam cushioning used throughout the interior. The magnesium toe sliders are replaceable, with additional magnesium sliders on the calf and heel.

The side-entry zipper has a Velcro-fastened flap and a ratcheting buckle up top to ensure a good fit, and the top lip has a gaiter to keep out road debris. A thermoplastic polyurethane midsole is reinforced with a steel shank to provide the right combination of flexibility and stiffness, with an antibacterial footbed helping to keep things from getting smelly.
