Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa Front
What do you guys think? Is it worth going to a 120 in order to get the sexiness that is this tire? I'm thinking of running the Supercorsa front a rosso 2 rear.

Besides slower steering and less change in your pocket, what would you gain over the Rosso II?

I think your efforts would be better spent on Rosso IIs and then dialing in your front suspension for your weight.

Quite a beefy tire, if you feel that it's worth the change from your DR2's then go for it I guess?

It's very true for automotive racing and I am guessing it would be true for motorcycles as well.
I autocrossed my car for a year before I owned my bike. I learned quite a bit about how tires change the car. With super grippy tires you can get away with many mistakes but with okay tires you really have to be a good driver to get the car to do what you want it to do. You have to be super smooth with crappy tires (not saying you shouldn't be smooth with super grippy tires) but once YOU can push the limits of a car with crappy tire then once you move up to grippy tires you will be able to go much faster than someone who skipped the basics and started with the most expensive grippy tires they wanted. I am tired am probably not being clear with my thoughts. |

...but to play devil's advocate: The Dunrocks suck. They slide. They don't turn in quickly at all. They don't stay stable mid-lean. They're vague when pushed at all. They generally are good at nothing except keeping the rim off the ground. now compare that to BT45's, or Diablo scooters. They flick over quickly. They stay planted and stable mid-lean. They don't feel slick. They get up to temp quickly and stay sticky. If anything, stickier tires show off my problems more, because they allow the bike to follow my every bad input and show me where I'm going wrong, whether that's too much bar input while shifting my weight, or just a bad line in general (I'm guilty of both). |

I see what you're saying there. I never experienced the dunrocks. I have BT45s on my ninja and Roadwinners on the KLX. Side note: I don't get why people bad mouth the Roadwinners, they work fine for the street. On neither bike do I have issues with the tires. If the tires were to slip for any reason it would be because of me making a mistake. But Jiggles has decent tires. DR2's. He doesn't NEED anything with more grip. He is just scared he is going to lowside for some reason. |

Also. I have the SC2 120 front. It is quite sticky/awesome. However, they are hard to get because they don't usually ship to the west coast. When I have to get a new front it will be a Diablo Rosso II. NOT because I don't like the Supercorsa, I think it's great. I'm not at a point where I think I'd be able to tell a great difference between the two, and wont be there for a while. I know the SC2 is better, but I don't need it yet, I'm just not there. Neither are you. Stick with the Diablo Rosso IIs, you have more to work on first, like butt to seat removal :P

Steve has used his SC2 front and DR2s for the whole race season. I think you have more than 6-7 Track days on yours... Save your money, this will get more expensive! :P
