15T JT sprocket...which way does it go in?

I've read conflicting info on this. Some say the lettering/spacer lip faces out...while others say it faces toward the engine.

Which way does it go in!? Does it matter? Will it mess things up if backwards?

The sprocket that was in was the OEM sprocket. It looks the same on both sides, each side with a rubber on it. The JT Sprocket is flat on one side and the other side has a lip or spacer on it with the JT logo, part number, etc. I've looked everywhere and some people say it goes on way and some say the other. I just don't know it it will cause catastrophic damage if I put it in wrong.

Not that I have any idea, but logic seems to dictate that the manufacturer would put the logo/part no on the outside to be seen, not hidden against the case but that is just a guess.

I just went though this myself...

It goes flat side out. I compared the flange width on the inside of the stock sprocket to the one on the JT and they matched. I've attached a photo of the two sprockets sandwiched flange to flange.

FWIW, the last JT on my bike was mounted backwards and the bike seems okay. I haven't looked closely at the old chain yet, but I'll bet that there's some wear caused by the misalignment.

Ride on,

J~
