Another 250r left behind (2008 ZX-6R)
I bought a new 08 ZX6r today. Kept hearing it call my name everytime i visited my dealer. Even the under 4,000 rpm break in is unbelievable. An old KZ400 was the largest cc i had ridden and it compared with the 250 . So this bike has me thrilled beyond words.

I never heard the blue say a bad word about any females, but I don't spend much time with blue either, preferring the red, of course.

Riding with the clip-ons i had on my 250 had me ready for this bike. The seat is a little taller, but i can still flat foot with my 34" pant leg . The seat is a little firm and it doesn't keep you sliding to the tank like on the 250 Last futzed with by CRXTrek; June 11th, 2009 at 04:03 PM. |

<--- <--- and for the miles , I got to 7,600 before i traded up.
I've read alot about the breakin time also. I believe the oil filter may get restictive during the shaping of the rings and bearings and that is the main reason not to beat on the motor too soon. I broke in the 250 riding in town going up and down the hills we have ,loading and engine braking, worked out well with no issues. Did the same with my 600. |

Well a thousand miles have past by
This bike is a blast Easy to ride as long as you have self-control and throttle control. I like it alot more for city and highway riding. More stable feeling and of course quicker. Riding with a passenger is also alot easier.
But, Riding the 250 thru the twisty felt alot faster, more at the limits, kinda like the difference betwen a go-cart and a car at 25 or 30 mph. I kinda miss that. Overall i'm glad i changed. Maybe i'll find a few track days to to get that thrill back because i can't do it on the streets. I haven't posted much, but i check in now and then. Christmas came early for my zx. Got a new Ohlins for dealer costs on ebay. Shipped from OhlinsUSA,so it's the real deal.
I like riding with it It tightens up the steering so bumps and body movement dont change my lane position as easly |
