Cable adjustment perch hole stripping

The hole in the clutch perch where the adjustment nut for the clutch cable screws into. The threads inside it are stripped about ¼" of the way down. As the cable stretches, I have less and less room to back off the nut to take up the slack.

Anyone else have this problem? Any solution besides buying a whole new perch?

I bet you can get a used perch on ebay pretty cheaply. That's what I would do. Not sure any fix-it would be as safe for you.

There is no effective way to repair that aluminum fine thread; hence, you have less regulation to stretch the cable housing.

Can you use the regulation at the other end of the cable?
If not, you could make a extension for the cable housing from an aluminum cylinder with a longitudinal groove.
