Bubba goes down!

A world-famous motocross racer has been charged with impersonating a police officer in Orlando. James "Bubba" Stewart bonded out of the Orange County Jail this morning.

It's unclear what Stewart was up to when he tried to pull over a vehicle on SR 417 with flashing red and blue lights in his pickup truck.* It turns out there were two off-duty highway-patrol troopers in that vehicle.

Stewart, who has his own show on Fuel TV, may be fast but not fast enough to get away from police when he sped off.

The Supercross champion, who now lives in Winter Haven, is known for taking chances on the track.*

Police also arrested a friend of Stewart, who was in the truck.* They say that friend was trying to hide the red and blue lights in his luggage.

The two were arrested at Orlando International Airport.

They had to have been drunk to pull a stunt like that.

It's a weird story. There still seems to be some confusion about whether this really is the same James Stewart.

I love living in Florida... How come I never get pulled over by Bubba? I'm on the 417 all the time!

I wonder what his passenger yelled. It might have been "Oops. Ignore us. Sorry. I was just messing with this light and it accidentally went off. We aren't cops."

He has been struggling on the track. Wicked fast lap times offset by crashes. Remember years ago when factory mx'er Ron Lechien rolled over a pick up truck and was also arrested in Japan for having pot on him. Honda saved his butt there. Although I like Maxima chain wax I always feel like i am putting money in his spoiled bank account. His family owns Maxima.
Hopefully James gets it together on the track and off (if he is starting to mess up). Wonder if he'll put that on Bubba's world, or if he was trying to sell a pilot of Bubba, Texas (umm Florida) Ranger.

Yep, it's a shame to see such a talented rider go down like this. He's an icon in the SX world and not a good thing to happen for a role model for younger riders.

Both Stewart brothers seem to be suffering the same problems on the track this year... fast, but crash. James seems to be living his life the same way.

I surely hope "Bubba" gets his head out of his ass and starts to fly straight. Seems a long way to fall for someone who had built so much in his lifetime.

To tell the truth (which I rarely like to do), Bubba was probably just trying to get traffic out of his way, instead of trying to pull someone over. He was on the way to the airport and we all know how people fall asleep in the fast lane and the only way they will get out of the way is with flashing lights. Some won't even get out of the way for flashing lights, they feel they have the right to drive where ever they want, how ever slow they want.
