wheel collar broke need help!!!

basically.. a traffic light malfunction caused me to do a 50ft skid locking up the rear wheel.

the collar broke and cant find a replacement locally unless i wait 2-3 weeks for one to be ordered!!(BS i kno right?!)

any way can anyone give me some advice...

its not that its my only ride i can use other cars but i hate anything except motorcycles now lmao.

really need to get back on the road and looking for any advice!

order a replacement online and you should have it by the end of the week.

cheapcycleparts or bikebandit have been great for me.

well i could go that route but i would probably end up spending $60 on a $10 part though right?

the whole pieces are here and there is one section that is still intact to provide exact height and the hole diameter is there aswell as the width..

may I ask how you damaged that collar w/o doing major damage to the other parts around it?

i wish i knew.. maybe a rock got on it somehow.. idk.. it has like teeth marks all in the grove though but only on 3/4 of the way round the other 1/4 is untouched..

ill take a pic real quick..

I'd look into what really caused that damage. I don't see how locking the rear brakes could cause that kind of damage.

I'd be suspect of the bearings. I'd also want to change the bearing seals.

The only time I've ever seen anything like that before was when my friend forgot to install the inner sprocket carrier spacer.
