Angry Wrecked it!!!

Well my pretty new 2012 Candy Lime Green ninja is not so pretty anymore.
Sharp enough left hand turn, I had a good line going in at about 25mph (had only ridden the road a few times and it was dark gotta be safe!!) around the turn i look up and see a cager on the yellow line!!! Stood the bike up to try to correct for that jerk and couldnt save the turn . Ended up in the grass and then into a stone wall. Got lucky and walked away with only road rash and a very sprained and bruised foot. Crutches for a week and pain meds! Ninjette is still at the wreckers but the right side is all torn up

Sorry to hear that, about your bike and especially about the injury.

But if you're cornering correctly (on public roads) then a cager that is simply on the line shouldn't even be an issue.
Did you learn anything from it?

Sorry to read about your accident, Alex

Better this outcome than hitting that one or other car.

Is the bike repairable?

Haha not quite. It was I saw a car WAYYY too close to my face and tried to avoid Im not a Blue Angel on my bike so cars 4-6 inches from my face doesnt quite work out for me.

Going to see the bike at the yard today and find out how badly she's damaged.

Haha yeah. Usually I ride in my combat boots, but this was just a quick ride with a buddy after class so leather sneakers it was. Wearing all my other gear though (jacket, helmet, pants, gloves) otherwise it could have been a lot worse.

Hey alex, glad it wasn't worse. Do be careful out there, don't try stunts on roads you don't know and specially not around blind turns... Not good for business. I once almost had a head on with an idiot completely in my lane while making a sharp blind left hander.

the second pic was too ironic not to post. love that sticker

I would get the bike out of the tow yard asap. They charge you per day of storage. Glad you're still alive.

It's a horrid feeling having your lovely ninjette hit the ground. Most important thing is that you're ok though... and that you learn something from this experience!

You should have rode it home. I hear tow truck driver like to pee on 250s. Be sure to sniff it and see if they peeed on yours.

lol, cc. So sorry to hear about your bike :-( Nothing worse than a cager roam'n over into your lane headon. Some of the canyons I ride the cagers think they are in GB they spend so much time in the other lane. Just remember you may be skilled enough to make the turn, but is the oncomming traffic... not always.

it's a really freaky sensation having your head close to a car in a turn.
everyday on my ride to work i make this nice 90 degree turn, two lanes on each side and I'm always making sure I set up properly to stay square in my lane, but every now and then i'm a little closer to the right side of the lane, and my head will be practically in the cager's window next to me.

Sorry to hear about your crash! Try not to hit those apex's on the street I guess, a lot of people ride the yellow line/cross over. It annoys the hell out of me... it's like drivers are so lazy or bad at driving that they just drive all over the road like it's no big deal.

Main thing that comes into your mind after you crash is..........................................................Am I still Alive? You then get up. Check to see if you are in pain. Thank god if nothing is broken. Get back up. Kick that guys ass who made that illegal move. Sue him. Then get a Brand New Bike.

This comment jumped out at me. Where were you looking before looking up? Would looking through the turn have allowed you to see the approaching car earlier and then adjust your line?

R6 time.

Glad to see you're alright, bike seems fine to me. Fix up that turn signal and the windscreen/bars and make sure that the rear brake operates properly and that nothing else is bent.

Buy a Goldwing. Cagers will never be a problem again. Just ram straight into them.

Glad to hear you're alright!

Left hand turns are dangerous because even though the bike's line might be within the lane, your head can hang out if you apex too close to the yellow lines. Chose lines that give you that give you a cushion not only for your head, but also the ability to compensate for a cager.

Take this as a learning experience, give yourself time to get your mind and bike back in order, and get back in the saddle!

What you need my friend is this

Doesn't come with brakes, but do you really need the extra weight?

p.s. not sure about the lean on this one either
