Anyone seen Diablo Rosso 2’s from Brazil?
I bought a set of Diablo Rosso 2’s for my Ninja 300 and was surprised when they showed up that they don’t look like the Rosso 2’s I have had in the past. The old Rosso 2’s looked like these Rosso 3’s that I have on my dirtbike, smooth and with the lines where the rubber is connected goes across the tire.
These new Rosso 2 have one line up the center where the rubber connects and knobs all over and are made in Brazil? I don’t care where they are made China, Brazil etc., as long as they are the same quality as they have always been? Has anyone used these Pirelli’s made in Brazil? I got them from Motosport which is a reputable outfit. Thanks! FBC6AFB4-0125-4389-B1C8-3D6B1AD83B48.jpg |

Has anyone used these Brazil Rosso 2 and are they functionally the same as the old ones? The profile looks different because they came with inserts that held the tore open so when mounted on the rim it should be fine.

Should be fine. They made minor changes over the years. Some plants may have newer designs while others not. Should all work the same.

I guess it doesn't really matter because I am using them regardless. No way I'm paying shipping to return them haha.
Just curious if anyone had seen them look like this because I could not find one Rosso 2 pisture on the internet that looked like mine, they all appeared to be made just like that Rosso 3 on my dirtbike (diff. tread pattern of course). I'm sure once they get some road use to knock those udders off they'll all look the same |

certainly looks like Rosso-II from Pirelli's website:

No doubt it is a genuine Rosso 2, it just appears that the Made in Brazil Pirelli’s are manufactured different than the China Pirelli’s from having both here and comparing. Wondering if anyone noticed a change in quality, longevity etc.

Is tyre on your bike Rosso-II as well? Looks like Rosso-III. What's moulded name on tyre say?
Shouldn't make difference where it's made, plants and machinery should be same. Only difference comes in with labour and transport costs along with any regional taxes. When VW sold all machinery to make original Bug to Mexico, they turned out same when made there. Only difference is cost of product since you're pretty much required to have college degree to work on assembly-line in Germany. |

Thats a Rosso 3 but in the past the Rosso 2 use to look just like that except with the Rosso 2 tread pattern. These new 2021 Rosso 2’s have a molding line down the center of the tire instead of across the tire every 10” or so like the older Rosso 2 and Rosso 3. Probably no big deal just something I noticed

It doesnt mean one is better, Im sure they are both made to Pirelli’s standards. I just thought it was strange and always I overthink things

Interesting... different clam-shells for moulding tyre...
yeah shouldn't make difference since it's only on surface. On older tyres made from sheets, there's lateral seam where ply layer ends. So you have to be careful to run tyre in one direction only to not peel off that edge. But with modern endless cord-laying, it doesn't matter which way you run them.
