Angry It's gone... stolen last night!

Came back from a ride last night around 9pm. Took a shower and went to bed. this morning at 5am. The bike is gone! I hate theives!!!!!!

I was fully insured but I doubt they will cover the $1000 worth of parts I just installed. (Seat, rear cowl, puig windshield, yoshimura fender eliminator, motodynamic LED tail light, etc...)

Sucks, if you have full coverage you should be reimbursed up to so much for extra additions, depending on your insurance provider. And people wonder whats wrong with this world, anyone up for rioting?

That's horrible. Some people are so nasty. I hope that wasn't your only ride and that you can get to work ok.

Ouch, sorry for your loss. I have the same color scheme too but mine is an 08. I hate thieves, at least whoever stole your bike will eventually get caught and he or she will never be able to find a decent job. I will pray for the recovery of your bike.

I hate thieves.
Did you store it outdoors? You should be able to get reimbursed by your insurance company for the mods on your bike. Just show them the photo proof & receipts.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your moto. I've had 2 motos stolen ago before I became a homeowner. Unfortunately ungaraged motos are at high risk for theft. It's good you have insurance. In the interest in helping others prevent another theft, did you take any other precautions: chain, locks, alarm?

We need to reinstate horse thief laws for vehicles again. I'm sure people would think twice about grand theft auto or stealing a motorcycle if the reward for being caught is the green mile. I feel our current system to prevent theft and major crimes lacks teeth.

It was stored in my driveway between my car and my front porch.

I didn't hear the bike engine so I'm guessing they either picked it up or rolled it into a trailer or pickup truck.

I just bought an Abus disk lock, an anchor and a chain to lock the bike.

I don't have a garage and I live in a townhouse so the backyard isn't accessible either.

From wikipedia Rigaud article:
Quote:
The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 7,346.
Only 7000! I bet you've made eye contact with the f**k*r on at least one occasion. With some highly discriminatory profiling, you could probably whittle the list of potential suspects from 7k down to 100. Then you just need to interview 10 people a day... 10 days later... you've nailed your perp!

I too lost my beloved ninjette to theft. It was taken out of the back yard in middle of nowhere, PA. The insurance company (progressive) gave me $$ for all accessories, except my woodcraft clipons because the dealer (racebikerentals.com) refused to provide a receipt. The cops called about a month later from Pittsburgh and said one of their patrol cars had a license plate scanner and nabbed a guy on the bike. I never heard anything more from them, and Progressive never got back to me about purchasing the bike back from a salvage auction. That was back in 2013, and I still won't get another bike till I have a garage to put her in. I haven't quite been the same since

Ugh....so lame!!! Sorry to hear that. I only have liability insurance on my bike because I'm under the false impression that only really expensive bikes get stolen. Gonna look into full coverage ASAP!!!

Sorry you also had your bike stolen.

I think when people put their own time into earning enough money to buy a bike and then further time into maintaining and customizing that bike; then the thief is actually stealing your time and keeping it for themselves. That's pretty disgusting. I think that's why it hurts so much.

I think when people live in a community, they rely on the people in that community to help them out when they're down. They rely on the community to trade with them in good faith, to watch each others backs and to share the land they all inhabit in a peaceful manor. When a thief comes along and betrays that faith, threatens that peace and only watches your back so they know their evil deeds aren't being witnessed... then that thief takes far more from the person than just the market value of your motorcycle. They take away a part of your trust and a part of your good faith.

I can understand why you haven't been the same. I hope you live somewhere where thieves are rare and good people are commonplace.

I definitely agree. We put our heart and souls into these things, between adding performance parts, farkles, valve jobs, etc., and for every hour we put into the bike, we spend another ten reading the forums to figure out how to do it right, and when you lose your bike, you lose a bit of your connection to the community. Thieves definitely take more than plastic and metal when they steal another person's bike.

Can't believe that our little Ninja would be of some interest in Québec province...

Never bother locking it or anything else to deter a thief... I thought they were more interested in Harley or bigger sport bikes...

Hope you'll get plenty to get a new one or at least what you had...

Well, the Ontario Provincial Police found my bike in Hawkesbury. Apparently the ignition is gone and they painted the bike blue. I'll know more when I go pick it up.
