anyone cut their stock cans before?

im thinking of taking on a new top secret project with my 01.

ive been reading some threads and have seen alot of people cutting their stock exhaust to hold them over until they buy a new one, or whatever reason they have.

im not trying to raise performance at all, or change the sound, i just think it might look better with my new project.

Question Time
-would it even be possible to shorten the length of the stock exhaust?
-if so, has anyone ever attempted this and want to share some knowledge, maybe know of a write up?
-if this is done, are there any changes in performance? sound? (Negative changes)

yea ive seen those and they are what peaked my interest, but again i never saw pictures of or anyone shortening the size of their stock pipes on an 86-07 gen. i did see someone using a supertrapp but all they used from the stock pipes was the hangers and i never got to see inside the stock

im sure that since it was done to others it would be just fine, i just like to have as much info as possible before i destroy things and i would have been nice to have been able to see whats in there before i start.
