S.E. Michigan rider looking for someone to ride with.

Ok so today I just started riding. First time since I was 12 lol. Getting back into the swing of things. Need to adjust the shifter a little. Other then that I must say. 250r is a fun bike. Light as can be and handles the turns pretty nice. And you can get some gear shifting action on a slow road without speeding lol.

Still getting use to it so if someone wants to putt around I'm all for it.

Located in Gibraltar Michigan. Won't be going any highway riding until I get some better gloves but if anyone wants someone to cruse downriver with hit me up.

Thanks.

Been thinking about getting a 250r or 300 for a while now. Found a deal on a 250r. Had the cash figured what the hell.

Will do.

Went out today. Deff buying a new seat. Stock seat is not nice to me lol. Getting use to it. Got it up in its powerband and did some late night cruising in the neighborhood with a ton of stop signs. Stock pipe so it dont annoy anyone. Its nice. Pitch dark road just enjoying the whistle of my helmet vents.

Figure I'll take it easy here till I'm back into riding. Then hit the major roads then when I get time to get some better gloves I'll hit the highways. Not really In a rush to get going. Just slowly getting back into it.

Hines Drive is a nice casual ride around 11 miles each way with a few lights. I also tend to take jefferson up through st claire along the lake for some great scenic views.
Get out on the country roads and the ride is incredible this time of year before all the crops grow to the point of limited viewing from the roads.

Before I do that I gotta go get my permit and insurance. With work I haven't had enough time this week. So I stick to this city. I know all the cops and I make shure I have my back pack on from when I was in the service lol. But I'm sticking to the side streets till I get that stuff. Just trying to get some time in so when I do get it I have some ride time. Trying to do a little 6 mile ride every night. That way I go get my permit. Ride for a week go do the road course and know how the bike rides and runs.

Back when I was younger I would ride 8 hours a day in my back yard every day. Those were the days. A kid just riding now worries just freedom. Good days.

I will say the bike is lightm few people those it was a 600 or 650 just really quite lol. Told them its a 250 and they were surprised how light it was and that a 6'2" 220lb guy fits on it.

Funny thing. Dealer said the 300 was to small for me and my weight wouldent move. Went in looked at a 600 and they said I was to big I needed a 1000. I know the whole weight thing but come on. I can ride a Honda spree. I know a bike is only as fast as you make it but if I want a 1000 I'll get one. I just wanted a light bike because I was injured in combat so the heavier the bike the less I'll be able to handle it if its tipping over. And I really do not wanna strain my arm and have to do rehab over again. 250 is exactly what I wanted. Would of done a 300 but there all around $3500-$4400 used. I dident wanna spend that much. But I might go with one next season. No need for anything bigger. I'm to old for the high speed stuff I would rather have fun in the turn and just enjoying the outdoors.

Also I'll be doing a ride to Las Vegas this fall. Might just use a friends Harley and hit the road. Go see my kids and cross a cross country bike trip off my bucket list.

Yeah I think its fun. Can't get over at how nimble it is.

I know its not that much smaller then a 600 but I make mine look tiny lol. But then again I made my buddy. 2006 cbr 600rr look small.

Kawasaki did a good job on the little bike. Not a big fan of the new 250 and 300 plastics I like the fully covered look. Guess that has to do with when I was growing up and started to get into dirt bikes those were the style so thats what I have always like.

But I like it. I'm going to do some work on it this weekend. And work on some stuff that I can 3d print for it. I have 2 3d printers so I'll be making some custom stuff for it. First up will be a custom o ring sealed waterproof compartment that will fit where the tool kit goes. Then I'll be working on a modded tool kit case that will fit in there.
