I know the pre-gen bikes (up till 2007) came with .44 kg/mm springs. I doubt Kawasaki would have upped the spring rate by too much over that in the 2008 re-design.
In the pre-gen bikes it seems that people always prefered more (by a pretty good bit) spring rate than the stock setup: 160 pound or less guys tend to go .65 kg/mm, 170 to 190 pound guys using .70 to .75 kg/mm, and the heavy boys on .75, .80 or even .85 kg/mm. Greg - I'm having a hard time finding the spec as well, but IIRC, this was one of the areas that was significantly changed during the re-design. Fork dive is significantly less on the new-gen, and some of the early reviews put that to a higher spring rate up front. But I hope someone can track down the numbers...

Oh, when I got new springs a while ago and was going back and forth with the guys at Traxxion Dynamics to get a proper spring rate for my weight, they told me that the pregen's spring rate measured at .44, but the stock 08+ 250s measured at .65. I've never seen anything official from kawasaki regarding it, so I can't say for sure, but I'm willing to take their word for it.

Check the MOM under specs, and also check the service manual. It is sometimes listed under one or the other (although I doubt it's in the MOM). I don't have ready access to mine or I'd look it up.

It's not in either of those. Zombiphone's numbers seem reasonable.

I just measured some at about .64. I would think .65 is correct. Certainly not .44...
