Low oil pressure during braking

If i brake hard(practising emergency stops for example) the oil pressure light will come on for several seconds when i come to a stop. Doesn't matter if i use only front brake or both front/rear.
It seems to me, all the engine oil is gathered up at the front of the engine, not in reach of the oilpump. The oil level is fine, theres been done 4 oil changes so far, and i have been having this issue all the way since the bike was new.

Anyone solved this or have ways of avoiding this happening?

What kinda OIL FILTER do you use?

It might be restricting the oil flow enuff to cause your oil light to come on!

I use the WIX one. NPs at all.

I use the filter with "kawasaki genuine parts" on the box, green/black paper box.
Only useful info on the box is: "Y28 P/No. 16099 - 003". On the filter itself it says "9V11".

I can go to 60mph, pull clutch in, brake as hard as i can without tires slipping and the light will come on.
If i leave the clutch out, it doesn't happen as often, but the engine will bog down ofcourse, if i dont pull clutch in at full stop.

what is your idle speed set to? if it's below 1500rpm, try raising it and see if that helps.

I've had it happen on our bike. If the oil level is a smidge low, it's more likely to show up. In my case it was still very much showing in the sight glass, but a little below the halfway point; putting it a little above the halfway point means the low oil light is unlikely to pop on anymore.

I have set it on purpose to 1100-1300 or something, low as possible, and that could be the reason indeed. I think we got a winner, i'll check it out.

Interesting. My oil light can stay on for 3-4 seconds, it feels like forever. I rev it instantly to get pressure back up. I guess its no harm done as long as i don't practice emergency stops for many continuous hours.

I'm guessing the low idle rpm is causing my light to stay on that long, and not 1-2 seconds.

Have you cleaned/checked the oil screen? If not, check it next oil change. The oil pump gets its feed from/thru that.

downshift while braking! Keeps the revs up, and you can brake as hard as you want without the light coming on. You can bottom out the front suspension and start chattering the rear tire while braking and the light wont come on.

That should not happen. If oil level is adequate, check connection of oil sensor...then test or replace oil sensor if bad.
