Anyone have a tail bag installed on their bike? **PICS**

I have this extra bag laying around and thinking about making it a tail bag. The thing is I don't know how to hook it up to the bike

Could someone show me? I saw a DIY to install your own tail bag on the older Ninja 250 (2007 and below) but mine is a 2009.

The bag have these 2 hooks on both sides

Easiest way that I see is bungees. It looks like there are two metal strap mounts on the side of the bag, attach a bungee to that and down to the hook underneath. Take a third bungee and hook it onto the handle of the bag then down to the grab handle on the passenger seat.

Hi all,

This is my first post here and I need your valuable help and suggestions.

I am interested in a tailbag for my Ninja 250R (2010 model) and have zeroed in on the Platinum Series Elite Tail Bag (soft luggage) from RJays Australia.

Here is a link to the bag on the RJay's website : http://rjays.com.au/home/products/lu...tail-bag.html#

The bike that is shown on this website (with the bag) has the "holder" on both sides to fasten the straps of the bag, but the ninja does not have any such "holders". Please see below images for reference.

Please let me know how can this bag be fixed / secured on to the ninja 250R using the existing straps of the tailbag.

Awaiting your reply.

Thank you.

I to have the Cortech sport bag. It has served me well on several trips. the bag does expand (picture is unexpanded) but if you pack lite it will do. On week long trips I have a small duffle that I strap on top of the bag using straps that clip to the buckles on the bag.The buckles are originally there for the addition of the cortech saddlebags. I swapped these out with matching set of male/female buckles and 2 foot straps from the local surplus store. To attach the bag I just lay the seat on the bottom of the bag and criss-cross the bunges then snap the seat on the bike. Good to Go. I have thought of replaceing the bunges with straps as the hooks are quite big and it is some times a tight fit under my seat with my tool pouch.

I am a massively huge fan of the Kreiga US-20 series. I did a review here in this thread.

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...ghlight=kreiga

It's a bit pricey but even if you did not purchase it, I think you could rig up some kind of strap system similar to the Kreiga and be very happy with it. If you dont have any method of sewing, you could always do a cross strap system and tighten those down instead. I guarantee you, straps will always be sturdier than bungee cords. That's not to say bungee cords wont work. They work fantastic, but I find that over time, they loosen and you will be back at square-1.

I looked at the cortech too and it's great if that is what you are looking for. Personally, i feel like it looks wierd when off the bike and used as a messenger bag.

This is what I meant by cross straps, you can figure out how you want to put it together.
