any direct user knowledge about shinko tires for commuting

I was amazed to read that yokohama tires sold their molds and technology to shinko. Based on that i would guess them to be pretty good tires, but would sure like to get some affirmation of that from current users. What cha got to say guys? My interest is in a long wearing predictable tire for commuting and touring.

I think @Skippii runs them; I believe he likes them quite a bit for commuting.

I have a shinko rear on my gixxer. Its pretty good! More of an economic tire but it works great in the curves once they're warmed up.

I just replaced my rear tire with a shinko.

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=117623

I haven't been riding a lot this week due to the hurricane, but I've gotten enough riding in to know that I'm happy with the tire.

So far it has performed flawlessly in my daily driving. The weather has been crazy lately so I've been able to test the tire in a wide range of conditions. From 40 degrees and raining to 80 and sunny this tire has been great.

I bought the tire from motorcycle superstore, and I think they must sell a lot of shinko tires because there are a lot of reviews on shinko tires, and most of them are positive.

Hope this helps.

@Alex is correct, I run the 712 rear on the Ninja250. Great for commuting, but also great for spirited riding (I've attended the 250 Rally at Tail of the Dragon twice on them), and does well in the rain. I get about 12,000 miles out of a rear.

On the CBR I ran Shinko Podium 006 at track days with Nesba. Those are some amazing tires.

I ran the 712 in 150-size on my DL1000 and didn't like the way it handled riding fast (70+) in downpours. Never had an issue with the 130 size on the Ninja.

I have a shinko podium 006 for my rear. Put about 4500 miles on it with more complaints. I don't ride super hard so I can't comment on nth degree performance but I would buy this tire again.
