Summer/warm weather jacket

I havent really ridden in my leather jacket yet but I know that it will be unbearable in the summer. I am looking for something comfortable (my leather jacket is way too bulky), still offers some protection, and is not a furnace. Any recommendations? Not looking to break the bank here.

Got this one used on craigslist for $125. Upgraded the chest and back protectors to the Bio Armor.

I have the Icon Overlord textile version for summer commuting. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/i...textile-jacket

I wear it around town when it's warm. But for riding out on the freeway or anywhere I'm more likely to be testing my limits, I wear the leather.

I snagged a Cortech GX Air 2 leather/mesh jacket on clearance a couple summers ago, and it's awesome. By itself you can barely tell you're wearing a jacket, and with both the waterproof and thermal liners installed, I think it's actually warmer than my leather jacket! Looks like the new version does not use any leather, but it's still worth a look.

I'm hoping my perforated Chicane jacket keeps me fairly cool once we hit 90's this year. I know when I rode my bike for the first time early March it felt like the perforations were letting ice into my jacket.

I have this jacket in the white, black, hi-viz, and I cannot vouch enough for it. Super comfy, great airflow! Altough, spend the extra $70 and upgrade the back and chest armor to the bio level armor, it will be money well spent, the cheap foam padding that comes with the jacket is a joke...

So it was between the revit air wave and the cortech gx sport air 3.0; I went with cortech. Same price, but useable during all seasons, more protection, apparently flows more air than the revit (according to a revzilla rep) and all my other stuff is cortech. Hopefully it fits

Mesh is the way to go on those really hot days. Something that's a light color works good as well.

This is my summer jacket.

So far no problems with mine, flows great air. Not so impressed with the normal foam back cushion, but plenty of Jackets come with them, and I hope I don't ever test it out, probly get a $90 buck chest and back protector though sometime

Most of the jackets seem to come with a measly back protector so at $90, cant really be upset; even after upgrading the armor its still cheaper

I got the fly racing jacket as well. Crashed in it twice at low speed with no issues.

I replaced the foam with a knox protector.

Just FYI... Sportbiketrackgear.com has a ton of A*s gear on close-out. If I had an extra couple hundred bucks, I'd be all over it.

Just ordered the A*'s GP Plus leather jacket for $250!!!!! The last one in (hopefully) my size. If this thing fits me nicely I will give you a high five! And I ordered the Alpinestars A-10 Leather / Textile Pants for $150. Hope they fit as well. If not I can just return them no biggie.

Would have totally missed this sale if it wasn't for you. Thanks Brad!

My GP Plus jacket arrived! So this is what a quality jacket feels like, Wow, I've been missing out. Fits pretty dang good. Sleeves are a tad short, but shouldn't be an issue because I wear full gauntlet gloves. I'll write a review eventually. Pants should be here next week sometime.

Nice. I have the long-arms issue too, but also wear gauntlets.

I ordered a teknic mesh jacket last week that should be here today. Sucks they are out of business though.

I had this jacket until I gave it to my friend after his wreck. It's an AWESOME summer jacket with really good protection for the money. I think I picked mine up for $50 on one of the sportbiketrackgear sales.

Next time it drops, I'll probably grab another

How'd the A* jacket/pants work for you in the Memphis heat?

It doesn't! Haha. My GP Plus jacket is not the vented one so any temp above 80 and you are going to be HOT! I still wear my crappy Bilt leather/mesh jacket in the summer here. But in the fall and some of winter and then early spring it works great! I never got the pants because they sent me the wrong size and weren't helpful in sending me the correct size. I just took a refund and am still wearing jeans. But I wear Dainese Knee and shin guards under my jeans. Will be get leather pants soon I think.

I've been looking at the new Icon Hypersport Prime jacket...looks so good! Loads of ventilation, lots of flexibility, and the best armor on the market. Definitely looking at this for my next jacket to replace my aging Teknic jacket.

I got this as my first jacket and it breathes very well once you remove the liner. Great fit too! I wear a size LG shirt and a LG jacket fits perfect.

x2 on the Rev'it Airwave jacket.

The build quality is excellent, and the breathability is incredible. Memphis summers are always 90+/90+ (heat/humidity).

Upgrade the back protector, and you've got CE at arms, shoulders, and back for substantially less than the Icon Hypersport Prime from above..

Any decent armored mesh jacket with vents should do the trick. I love my Icon Contra it's a 3 season mesh jacket with room for hoodies and such when it gets cold.
