Now I'm definitely gonna have to buy it WHEN it gets here. I'm 90% sure they will bring it to the states seeing how well the Ninja 250R and CBR250R did.

All these years of teasing us and they pull out a bike that pretty much copies the ninja. Hell their r125 in europe had a more modern perimeter frame design. Not buying this and if I had a ninja 300 I would not be that worried about it. At least KTM is going a bit farther.

I was like man look at that ....... holy crap is that a 140 or 150 sized Mich DOT? Lol

All things considered though, the little Yami looks amazing and should garner quite the following. Love that the little bike market has exploded like it did, although I can't see me ditching my '09 simply because of the cost of getting a hold of a '13/'14/'15 and tearing it up for track use.

With an expected price of just 1.75 LAKHS everyone should be able to join the fun. Still not convinced that its coming to the U.S.

Those numbers are fake. A Ninja 300 stock doesn't produce 39HP. That's how I know they're fake. LOL

Also note INR 1.75 LAKHS equals 2790 US dollars. Seems a bit to low.

I thought that's what it makes at the crank in stock form.

Honestly, I don't really care how much it makes. Well, yes and no. So long as it produces 25HP at the wheels I'll be good with it.

The problem with the KTM is it's just like all the other Italian bikes: Parts are hard to get.

It's an Austrian bike manufactured in India, isn't it?

Are you talking about the 300 or the yamaha? Still don't see why this yami is better than the 300.

Uhh KTM's are made in Austria,.. and part's aren't hard to get. I should know my Husaberg is basically a KTM with different plastics.

measured at crank it I believe it does. at wheel it definitely doesn't.

also, that price is ridiculous. 1.75 lakhs, the ninja 300 in the same market is 3.5 lakhs. this thing is going to be cheap as hell to buy.

the yami allegedly comes with ohlins suspension stock (looking at the price I doubt that now) has similar power at crank, slightly more torque with ~4 less hp. clip on handlebars and rearsets stock (assumed from the model they showed, they better be) easily beats the honda cbr300r in the eyes of the sport crowd. The best part is half the price. I see myself buying one of these to get into 250 class racing years down the line as I doubt I'll own my ninjette at that point.

Yami.

The Yami Looks better than the 300 IMHO. And prolly is lighter too. And Yami's quality is way better than Kawi's IMHO. If it does in fact make 35BHP thats pretty impressive for a 250cc 4 stroke.

Good point...bwahaha

I've never owned a KTM but heard from other who do. Anyhow, I don't know if there's a race class for the KTM RC390.

Yup but those guys are producing 77-95HP compared to a measly 45HP.

IDK...I really haven't made up my mind yet on which bike to get. Heck, I may just buy both. LOL

I like the idea of another small bike to choose from so hope the R25 makes it to North America, or at least Canada .

If the bike does arrive here, I would bet my left nut that it won't come stock with Ohlins suspension and those rearsets. Sure would be nice though.

Kawasaki had the 250 class basically to itself for many years and I think the competition from Honda, KTM, Yamaha, etc. will certainly keep them on their toes.

That is probably the sexiest 250, and possibly any bike, I have ever seen. Even my friend who rides a Harley agrees haha.

If they price that bike at half the price of the 300, the small displacement sport bike will be back to a one bike market again, and all our bikes will be giveaways.

now if only these were all I4 250s but if yami magically manages to get their 250 out with ohlins suspension (even as an optional package) and stays between half to 2/3rds the price of the 300s it's a sure fire winner in the us, especially with the small displacement expansions recently they may as well try.

just to add to this as well triumph also released a prototype sketch of their 250cc bike coming out in 2015. Looks like we r going to have a boom in the 250cc market again? It seems to b a trend going on right now

http://blog.motorcycle.com/2013/11/1...h-250-preview/

Thats the link to the triumph!

Also that yami looks nice as well but is it even going to b street legal? or strictly a track bike?
