Differences Between Big 4 600cc Super-sports
Any time I see someone ask for the "best" 600cc sportbikes, everyone gives their version of the preverbal "all four are so similar, all that matters is what fits you… you'll never see any difference on the streets… you can't even ride your 250… blah blah blah".
So I was wondering, what are the DIFFERENCES between the big four (ZX6R, GSX600R, CBR600RR, and YZF-R6)? An example of something I'd like to know would be that the CBR doesn't have a slipper clutch. Thanks for the information! |

I thought this article was really good. It's a bit dated, but I don't think that there have been too many advances in recent years due to the dip in japans economy.

The ergonomics differ between them. Such as seat height and Handlebar placement, all 600 supersports are fine machines though.

Another thing I've noticed is the Gixxer's Drive Mode Selector feature. Seems pretty neat if you ask me...

If you want the latest and the greatest its the 2011 GSXR. But personally I think the front end looks crappy.
Other than that pick what you like, you won't really notice any difference in performance...Under normal street circumstances you can barely ride these bikes to 70% of their potential. |

^^^You'll change your mind on the GSXR if you ever see a 2011 in person. They're so beautiful!

No traction control on the CBR, ABS available though. GSXR and ZX have the Showa Big Piston Fork.

yes that link is quite useful. I still drool over the 675 because of how dang sexy it is, but this has brought the GSXR600 and 750 into my view. Whatever I get later on in life, I still want to keep a 250 when I can

Other than that they added Brembo brakes, Showa Big Piston forks and shaved off 20 pounds. Pretty much seals the deal if you really need top notch performance and handling. |
